Mobile phone customers who use T-Mobile phones equipped for 3G service should notice much faster data service around Boston.
The company said its Boston 3G network went live this week after infrastructure investmets of more than $243 million. The rollout is part of a T-Mobile effort to get 3G into about two dozen markets by year’s end.
T-Mobile joins Verizon Wireless, AT&T and Sprnit in offering 3G in Greater Boston. Download speeds are considerably faster, making Web-surfing much easier and speeding the loading and sending of e-mail. Additionally, 3G can improve voice service.
