Get a free BlackBerry Bold with a contract from Walmart!

This is no joke. Apparently Walmart is offering the BlackBerry Bold 9000 from AT&T for free after a mail-in rebate of $199.99 from LetsTalk. Mail-in rebates are tricky because A LOT of people forget to mail them in, and by the time they realize it it’s too late. So if you get a Bold through Walmart with the LetsTalk rebate…MAIL IT IN ASAP.
It seems like a pretty awesome deal, but Baseer made the following comment over at Engadget:
aahh….there’s a catch
Walmart is calling it the “BlackBerry Bold Unlimited” which means the cheapest plan you can get is:
AT&T Nation 1350 w/Rollover®
# Basic Voice Mail, Caller ID , Three-Way Calling,
Call Forwarding and Call Waiting
$79.99
Activation Fee: $36.00Plan Options
BlackBerry Personal Add-on: $30.00
Messaging Unlimited: $20.00
2 Year Contract Included
Add/Edit Plan OptionsMonthly Fee: ** $129.99
I guess it was too good to be true, unless you don’t mind paying that much of course.
Check out the Walmart page for the Bold.
