Verizon BlackBerry Storm 9530 limited availability

I got to play with the BlackBerry Storm 9530 over the weekend in a Verizon store, and I was impressed. RIM has definitely come a long way. Unfortunately, the Storm I played with was a bit slow because it had been on for a few days without a battery pull or being turned off, so it had all the cookies, cache, and all that from everyone testing it. Besides that, the touchscreen “bending” and clicking was pretty cool, it was also a lot smaller than I thought it would be.
Anyway, Verizon updated their Storm page. From the Verizon site:
Due to limited availability of the BlackBerry® Storm™ 9530 smartphone, orders will ship by 12/15.
When I was in the Verizon store the rep told me it sold out within the first 2 hours. I’m sure people would have taken the Storms on the floor if they could
