Absolute Launches Computrace Mobile Beta Program for BlackBerry(R) Smartphones

Absolute extends asset management, data protection and geolocation capabilities to the popular BlackBerry platform

VANCOUVER, Nov. 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ – Absolute(R) Software Corporation (“Absolute” or the “Company”) (TSX: ABT), the leading provider of firmware-based, patented, computer theft recovery, data protection and IT asset management solutions today announced it launched a closed beta of Computrace(R) Mobile for the BlackBerry(R) platform. With general availability estimated in the first quarter of 2009, the new solution will deliver asset management, data protection and geolocation tracking for the popular BlackBerry line of smartphones.

    Computrace Mobile for the BlackBerry platform will deliver:

    -   Reduced operational costs associated with managing mobile devices by
        leveraging the Computrace platform's integrated Customer Center
        reporting for hardware, software and user information.
    -   An additional layer of data protection and increased compliance with
        government data breach laws through remote Data Delete capabilities.
    -   The ability to geolocate a device and displayed it on a map.*

During the beta testing period, some of Absolute’s current commercial customers have privileged, pre-release access to Computrace Mobile for BlackBerry at no additional cost. Interested journalists and product reviewers may also request a demonstration of the solution prior to its general availability.

Computrace Mobile is currently available for all Windows Mobile(R) 5 and 6 handheld devices including popular models like the MOTO Q, Treo 750 and Samsung BlackJack.

    * Geolocation is only performed with the prior consent of the device
    owner. Geolocation feature is available for BlackBerry Versions 4.2.1 and
    later.
