*UPDATE* There was a question regarding the regular customer pricing of the BlackBerry Curve 8900. I was able to get a partial discount on mine, but the regular price would have been $499.99 for the 8900 without a new plan or renewal agreement. I’m assuming this means that the prices are the same as the business customer prices I posted about last week.

I just got off the phone with a T-Mobile rep and was able to place an order for the BlackBerry Curve 8900!!!

This is awesome! Keep trying and you should be able to get it!

Here is what I did:

Call 877-453-8824
Say you are looking for a college/government/employee discount
If they say they don’t have one ask to purchase the 8900 without the discount
They’ll say they can’t and transfer you
Tell the new rep you were transfered to purchase the 8900
TADA!
All took 15 minutes

Were the prices the same as what they were offering to business customers?

I just got my BlackBerry 8900 two days ago, from Rogers in Canada, with no hassle at all. It pays for RIM to be a Canadian company ;)

And it's beautiful btw, you will love it.

Oh and I got mine for $199.99 Canadian.

Is there really a college discount, how much? And I'm guessing it couldn't be used with the 8900.

And could I get the 1 year extension in person on Feb 11th, or can I only do this thru a CSR? Thanks ;P

There is a college student discount but none could be found for my school.

I wouldn't know if the discount could be used with the 8900 since I didn't have one, but I'm sure it would apply.

You could probably do the extension at a store, I don't see why not.
