My buddy Fabian Heuwieser created a new, free application for BlackBerrys called BerryTorch.

From the description:

The application is quite easy to explain:
It shows a blank, white screen and activates the LED. Through this you can see in the dark.

I’ve tested it out on my BlackBerry Curve 8900 and it works great! No problems at all.

    When you really need a bright light a white screen just won't cut it. What you want is to get the super bright video camera light on quickly and have it stay on as long as you need it. There is only one app that can make that happen. You can get it here :

    can't figure out why the bb seem to be just over 1000 mah for the standard i mean charging it up every night tho brightness is set at 50% dim is off and blank after 30 seconds. would be nice to go a few days per charge. im sure the technology is there to create a 5100 mah battery at same dimensions least we can use the video light feature all night. look for video camera then trackball then click the app button on left side then options lastly video light set it to 'on' then save then quickly get your sunglasses on lol just kidding then use the 'space' button to go through the options of OFF/ON/AUTOMATIC
