This is pretty cool! According to the Official Google Blog, GrandCentral is to become Google Voice. Current GrandCentral users will be able to get a preview of Google Voice before it goes public, which should happen over the next couple days. As for the rest of us, Google says it will be publicly available soon!

Google number – One number for all your calls and SMS

Google voicemail – Voicemail as easy as email, with transcripts

Voice features – More cool things you can do with Google Voice

If you’re a current GrandCentral user be sure to leave some comments about Google Voice!

Thanks Jack!

    You are very very welcome!
  • Numerous services like this already exist with much more of a robust feature set.

Service likes RingCentral, GotVmail, OneBox, VirtualPBX etc.

They all offer this and 1000 times more.

Granted they are paid but they also offer 800 numbers where Google doesn't.

All depends on if you view the service for personal use or business.

If for business I'd definitely go for one of the others...for $10 vs. free you get much more.

    My 2 cents.

You have a very valid point as far as for business use. For the casual user, its nice to not have to pay for transcription thru Google as you do thru YouMail. Google talk is like GrandCentral and YouMail all rolled up into one.
