Here’s a free GPS golf application that I know all you BlackBerry owning golfers would appreciate :-) .

The application is called BBGPSGolf and it currently has 1,148 courses in its database!

Here’s what the creator of BBGPSGolf had to say:

I have been looking for a long time to find a BlackBerry GPS golf application that was free or freeware and I was not able to find any good ones. I found some really good applications but they only last a few rounds. (GreenFinder and InteliGolf)

So I though I would install JDE and play with the sample GPS software and it did not take me to long (about 3 working days) before I had a working application. I am still working on the back end of the server but I would like to make it so that any user can add a course online and then be able to play that same course later that day. I use Google Maps to get the GPS cords for the Front, Middle, and Back of the green. I then save that information into an XML file and I update the main course list xml file.

BBGPSGolf is for BlackBerrys on OS 4.3 and up.

Another great free Golf GPS app for blackberry is nRange Golf GPS. It has a very clean user interface and is lightening fast. I've played in a group where another guy had a Sky Caddie and nRange was every bit as accurate and fast updating. nrange.com is the website.
  • Living in Guam was limiting for GPS support of Golf. I found BBGPSGOLF by accident and looked under courses. They had every course in Guam except Air Force Base Palm course. I tested it and it worked fine. Highly recommended. By Donation, well worth it. ***** FIVE STAR

Thank you very much for this great application. I recently downloaded it onto my phone. How do I upload my local golf courses? Do I have to change the connection method from Direct TCP to something else? If so, change it to what?
    I really appreciate the software.

I tried BBGPS Golf on my 8330 Curve and could not getting working. Then I went to the BBGPS site and read that the "Verizon" 8330 isn't supported. It's always some thing.
