My buddy Bla1ze over at CrackBerry just posted about a new Twitter application for BlackBerry called ÜberTwitter.

ÜberTwitter just opened up for public beta testing with version 0.40, a pretty early release so don’t expect it to be perfect just yet. Because of this, the ÜberTwitter developers ask that you please submit feedback so that they can make their app better, faster.

From the description:

ÜberTwitter is a company devoted to delivering highly functional Twitter clients for mobile devices. Our first product is ÜberTwitter for the BlackBerry line of mobile phones. We are very excited about the opportunity to provide BlackBerry users with a full featured Twitter client which will include:

  • Integrated ability to upload pictures to a site dedicated to serving ÜberTwitter users
  • Ability to optionally update your Google Talk status with your last tweet, making your tweets reach a wider audience then just people following you on Twitter
  • Automatically update your location based on the cell tower information provided by your phone, no GPS hardware required, click here for an example
  • Send videos embedded in your tweet
  • See everyone who is tweeting near you

ÜberTwitter is available for all BlackBerrys with OS 4.2.1 and above, including the Storm.

  • Ubertwitter has alot of potential as a twitter client. I'm a huge fan of the slick interface, as it it doesn't stutter or glitch, and the trending feature is a client must-have. It has a very solid featureset, and its pretty easy to use. I'm still using YATCA as my primary, but Ubertwitter has won me over Twitterberry. Keep up the great work, guys!
