UPDATE: Blu-ray mobile application coming to BlackBerry next week

* UPDATE There is now a BD Touch 2.0 page up at the NetBlender site with lots of info and screenshots.

• Transfer media from Blu-ray player to handheld device
• Remote control – control movie playback using handheld device
• Keyboard – use handheld device keyboard to enter data to player
• Create games based on title that interact with handheld device
• Multiple handheld devices can integrate with a single BD disc
• simultaneously – multi-player games!

BluFocus and NetBlender are teaming up to bring a Blu-ray mobile application to BlackBerry devices, among other smartphones.

The Blu-ray mobile app, called BD Touch 2.0,  will allow people to transfer bonus and interactive features from their BD discs and players right to their BlackBerrys. BD Touch 2.0 would also allow you to use your phone as a remote control for your Blu-ray player!

The BD Touch 2.0 app will debut at next week’s National Association of Broadcasters conference in Las Vegas.
