I just learned that Viigo has an Alpha version 3.1.242 available for BlackBerrys!

There isn’t anything official out yet, but since the link is floating around the Twitterverse I figured I’d post about it with some of my findings.

Here is what I noticed so far in version 3.1.242:

  • New look and feel, sort of refreshed from previous versions
  • Application icons and text seem more vivid
  • AUDIO & MEDIA SUPPORT! And they already have a library of podcast and media feeds to choose from
  • New choices in the “Options” menu which include Audio & Podcast and Pageonce (registration key required) settings
  • Maximum connection size options for Audio & Media (64 , 128, 256 or 512 kb)

Viigo is one of the first applications I always suggest to new BlackBerry owners. It’s a great way to stay up to speed with just about anything.

You can download Viigo Alpha v3.1.242 by going to getviigo.com/alpha from either your PC or BlackBerry Browser.

Since this is an Alpha application don’t expect it to be perfect (even though I haven’t run into any problems). If I missed anything or you want to share what you think of the Alpha version be sure to do so in the comments!

  • Just tried it and it works. Keep trying Viigo might be getting hit with lots of traffic for the Alpha.

How did you manage that? I am continually receiving Error 907: Invalid COD on my Pearl, and when I try from me PC, I'm redirected to the Windows Mobile site and can't access the Blackberry links.

When will Viigo work on Wi Fi without a BB data plan?
