It’s been about a month since any BlackBerry OS was leaked, and even then OS 5.0 had not been leaked for the Storm 9530 yet. That’s not the case anymore…

well i upgraded 2nite and i lost the same sum 3party apps and bbm but i already had v5.0 it isnt on the phone cant find it but its in the apps list and also the browser u say there a tab?? lol i cant find that either

i did backup thank god but i donno but upgrading yet mayb wait even a lil while longer till they fine tone it
but yeah its workin great other then sum small issues its fast from screen 2 screen and loads quicker and i find it responds better 2 my touch

yeah i lost WIndows Live messenger, Facebook, Myspace, BB app world, and BB messenger but when i try to load Application center it gives me a 404 error message

I installed this os 5.0.0.140 this evening.All went well,some 3rd party apps don't work like myspace,facebook,and blackberry app world.Other 3rd party apps did work like weather bug,stop tilt,viigo,max mem,youmail, bepopup,and aerize optimizer.However what I have found is that there is no incoming sound for texts or emails.Phone sound works fine though,which is a good thing.Browser tabbing takes a little getting used to but great feature.App options has thumbnails now with a better ui in each app selection.Overall this os update runs smooth and seems a little faster and I have gained ram by 15%.I recommend this upgrade if you can live without social apps and certain others till they make them.

i found that doing a factory reset on the phone world allow the sms text to work properly. i accomplished this thru the rimgeeks BB Swiss army knife.

you mentioned the phone, has it increased the dbl. threshold or is it just better sound? I found that the phone had soso sound but bigest problem was reception threshold was low compared to outher phones. this is storms bigest problem as far as i'm concerned. anything over -101dbl and you break up and - 110 dbl forget it. could be tranciever though i'm not positive.

The update is legit. There are new transitions, new icons, slightly different functionality in the Options section. If you lose your BBM, then upgrade form StormOTA.com to the new BBM 5.0 (for 5.0 OS's). BBM 4.7 is not compatible with the 5.0 OS. New start-up screen too.

It's leaked beta software that isn't guaranteed to work (but in most cases does), which is why you should always make a backup just in case you do want to use it.

Did you upgrade to 5.0 because I've been seeing posts about how people have lost BBM, facebook, myspace and even the browser. If you have upgraded, are you having any problems?
