UPDATE Someone just pointed out that BeBeMe is both free and premium.

According to the image above yearly is free but they seem to be offering premium plans for longer periods of time. Is anyone else getting something similar when they check? If you find a free one then good, if not I don’t recommend paying for it. *
BeBeMe has launched their new social networking site for BlackBerry users allowing you to conveniently create a single “PIN alias” that would stick with you for life (should you choose), versus the BlackBerry PIN being unique to each device.
What is BeBeMe?
BeBeMe is a social network and a new global identification system for BlackBerry users. It’s a global address book where the BlackBerry users can be reached easily by converting PIN and Emails to an easy to remember Number or Name and makes it easy to add friends to their BlackBerry Messenger and contact list.
BeBeMe simplifies sharing a handset’s Personal Identification Number (PIN), enabling everyone to communicate more conveniently with friends, with communities, anywhere in the world.
BeBeMe offers many value added services, including storing all contacts online, interacting via personal profile pages on www.bebeme.com, and maintaining the same BeBeMe account regardless of whether a handset is broken, lost or upgraded.
With the way everyone communicates continuing to evolve, BeBeMe helps everyone to connect.
It’s free. It’s instant. It’s fun. And it has no boundaries.
The idea of one BeBeMe for all your BlackBerry devices (new and old) is something I’m sure many of you would appreciate. The downside is that BeBeMe is only available for devices running OS 4.6 and higher with support for the Storm on OS 5.0 coming soon.

Press Release
NEW YORK, September 14 /PRNewswire/ — Riding on the growing popularity of instant messaging, http://www.bebeme.com is a new website offering users a wide portfolio of social networking services and customization options for BlackBerry(R) smartphones.
One of the most compelling features available to BlackBerry(R) users is the free BlackBerry(R) instant messenger service, using PIN-to-PIN connections. At launch, http://www.bebeme.com opens up a world of opportunities by customizing the user experience and managing social networks.
By simply downloading free BeBeMe software, users can customize the device PIN or email and create unique corporate, memorable, personal or fun aliases to mask their original ID and conveniently share among their peers. The BeBeMe alias ensures that users maintain their networks and contacts should their BlackBerry(R) be lost, broken or upgraded.
A PIN is specific to each BlackBerry(R) device, a BeBeMe alias is for life.
BeBeMe members can also add each other to their existing BlackBerry(R) Messenger network via PIN or email request and benefit from the website’s many social networking services, which will include a customized webpage, global address book, RSS content, and posting and blogging capabilities for managing discussions.
Among the website’s many contact management features, upon becoming a member users can set-up their profile page which includes a photo for the web and BlackBerry(R), contact information, profile text box for member information, privacy functions for the user to select who can view their data, and a search facility for other members. Users can also add members to their BeBeMe contact list and conveniently arrange them into groups.
John Burnett, chief corporate officer, BeBeMe, Inc., said: “BeBeMe helps users get an even richer experience from BlackBerry(R) instant messaging, offering a wide range of social networking services with a global reach. It expands the capabilities and connectivity of the BlackBerry(R) Messenger service and it’s free. It’s instant. It’s fun. And it has no boundaries. We are proud to be the first to offer such comprehensive and unique services.”
Faran Siddiqi, a BeBeMe member said: “The use of PIN-to-PIN communications is easy to use, but it lacks the ability for me to personalize my device access number. This is where BeBeMe helps by creating a convenient, memorable PIN alias – perfect for sharing. http://www.BeBeMe.com is also the place where BBM communities can stay connected. My friends and family know my alias, and even business contacts appreciate the convenience. With a network spanning the Middle East, USA, and other places I frequently travel, staying connected has never been easier.”
Basic membership at http://www.bebeme.com is free with the option to upgrade to premium services. Members can keep their alias for as long as they want it, confident in the knowledge that it is one of a kind.
