Data Outage Affecting BlackBerry Users Throughout North America – Are You Being Affected?

UPDATE It looks like this outage is occurring in many more areas than previously reported. Please refer to the comments of this post. *

I’ve received numerous reports from @DavePeckens, @BRSDiddy and a few others, letting me know that BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) seems to be down for them. So far it looks like the areas being affected are California, Texas, Arkansas, Michigan and I can confirm that BIS is having trouble in New Jersey.

At first it seemed like only the BlackBerry Browser wasn’t working but it looks like third-party applications are also being affected, although some are having more luck connecting to the internet.

I can verify affected AT&T customers in the Carolinas.
An insider @ RIM has confirmed delay issues were occurring Monday; but that everything should be restored as of this morning…

FB still hit or miss. Browser connects more than not, as opposed to last night. Maybe the new RIM Twitter Client is crashing servers!…. not. supposed to be released yesterday. Still waiting.

This was confirmed in Toronto as well! I had to call up Rogers to get a BlackBerry Network fresh which ended up working 2 hours later. The hiccups seem to have disappeared or corrected to be politically correct!

Out in Las Vegas since 16th – no email, BB messenger, internet, FB, BB App Store, but have access to Bank of America app, Google Maps app, Viigo, OpenTable. My husband is also a Tmobile customer, but is on BES and is having no problems.

Just did a battery AND sim card pull, keeping both out for 40 seconds, reinserted them and that corrected the issue for me. I'm on T-mobile.

my data connectivity service has been down since november 23rd. no email, pin's, bbm or internet connectivity. only phone and text services work. i'm on the telus network and i live in los angeles. never had a problem before – and that's been years. this is maddening. telus can't seem to provide assistance and verizon wireless can't help because i'm not a customer, but i am roaming on their network. i'm on a blackberry 8830 world edition. if anyone has any idea what exactly is going on and when it will be fixed, that would be great. thanks and good luck to all.

I'm in Oregon and a Verizon customer. No email, BBM, PIN messages or third party apps that use data but my text messaging seems to be working as well as being able to make calls. Where can I find information on how many outages there have been in say the last year?

I am a user in Colorado, no email, BBM or internet services on blackberry, but text messaging and phone calls are working. Also – my entire company (about 25 employees located in Philadelphia) have no blackberry services (email, internet and BBM).
