I’m not a big MySpace fan (I’m partial to Facebook) but I know there are plenty out there who are. RIM has announced the release of MySpace 2.0 beta for BlackBerry smartphones. New features in version 2.0 beta:

• Blog Support
  • BlackBerry smartphone users are able to post blogs on their web pages as well as determine fields for subject, body, category, mood, disabling comments and privacy settings. They can also comment on and view other peoples’ blogs, and view comments that friends have made on their blogs.
• BlackBerry Internet Service transport for real-time updates
  • Is designed to allow new messages, friend requests and profile comments to be pushed in real-time without requiring an integrated email address.
• Message List Integration
  • Is designed to allow BlackBerry smartphone users to have full integration of MySpace notifications to their BlackBerry Message List. BlackBerry smartphone users can compose messages, blogs, or bulletins from the BlackBerry Message List as well.
• Custom Status/Moods
  • BlackBerry smartphone users have the choice of creating a custom option when setting their status/mood. They can also comment on other people’s moods and view their mood/status history to see all of their previous updates.
• Multi-recipient/multi-message support
  • Messages can be sent to multiple people at one time, without having to send it to each person one by one.
  • Multiple messages can be selected at one time to delete, mark as read, and mark as unread, instead of selecting such messages individually.
