The Beejive team seems to be concentrating more on the upcoming release of BeejiveIM for BlackBerry. @BRSDiddy let me know that they have just released BeejiveIM 2.0 Release Candidate (RC) 1. The changelog is like that of version 1.9.7 so RC1 is mostly about fixing bugs in preparation for a final release. New features from the current production version include:

• support for 5.0 OS
• file transfers via link, you can now transfer files to buddies on all IM accounts.
• email push when app running in background (see preferences in app).
• send voice notes
• send GPS location (if supported by phone)
• new chat styles & background images
• new buddy list layouts
• improved battery life
• overall UI redesign
• Facebook IM
• various other bug fixes & enhancements

BeejiveIM will only work on BlackBerry devices running OS 4.2.1 and higher. Before installing this new version make sure you delete your current version and all associated modules, and then completely reboot your BlackBerry.
