Wondering How The Trackpad Works? Check Out This BlackBerry Science Lesson [Article]

As many of you already know, newer BlackBerry devices like the Curve 8500 and Bold 9700 series come with a new form of navigation called the Trackpad. When someone asks me “What the hell is that?” because they haven’t seen a Trackball-less BlackBerry I always say “It’s a Trackpad, kind of like your laptop’s mousepad”. I usually tell this to fellow college students who almost always have a laptop in front of them, so it works when it comes to explaining what it is as simply as possible.

Becky over at Inside BlackBerry got into the scientific workings of the BlackBerry Trackpad with David (Vice President of Handheld Products) and Derek (Electronics Designer) to find out exactly what happens when your finger slides across that optical surface. If you’ve been wondering how the Trackpad works and what happens when you touch it, this “BlackBerry Science Lesson” will definitely interest you.

Head on over to the Inside BlackBerry post and check it out.
