I tried on my 9000 AT&T and it worked fine initially. But when the battery indicates 50% or less, it restart automatically and repeated along with lower battery level.
Have tried to uninstall it, wipe my 9000, and install it again, but still the 'problem' is there. No additional applications installed.
    Any suggestions ?

i tried to install using apploader but it says i have no update...anyone knows how?? thanks in advance.

    hi ,, First go to this location " C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader "
    and delete the vinder file.
after that in same folder you will found a file name " Loader " Press twice "
    that's it :)

I've tried installing it also and it did not work for me. I still have 4.6 on my phone. :-(

managed to install OS 5.0 after disconnecting my internet. BUt the memory leak is crazy...never experience it in OS 4.6....this one is like at the end of the day...my memory is like 0.0!!!!! hopefully a patch or sth come out soon....beside the memory leak the OS is very cool!

What do you mean disconnecting your internet? Please explain as I can't get mine download to work!
  • rexyme
hmm after u download the installation file. Disconnect your internet (either plug out your LAN cable or disable your wireless network) then install your software. after installing, you might wanna restart your computer (make sure you are not connected online). then after that go to the loader folder under common folder --> Research in motion -->App loader...then delete the vendor.xml file. after that you might wanna restart your computer again to play safe. once your computer is back online, ensure that your computer is not connected to internet then you start the loader at the App loader folder then just follow the instruction. If at this stage you still didn't see the update to OS5.0, then restart your computer once again then after that you start Desktop Manager, from there you go to Application loader, and choose Update software, you should see that you have the OS5.0 there waiting for you also. Hope it helps....for me after I see that OS5.0, I went to use App loader from the folder and true enough now there is update of my core OS to 5.0:)
HOwever, it seems that quite a number of ppl comment the same thing about memory leak...usually after about 12 hours or so, the application memory will drop to like 2 or 3 MB from 20 MB plus...so need to do battery pull...let's hope RIM will fix this soon:)

that tip worked great [delete vendor.xml file] !!!
after i did that it was smoooooothh loading using double click on App loader icon...

memory leak still an issue today... any patches for that available...???

    thnxs again...!!!

I am also having a memory leak problem. I have used both the unofficial leaked os as well as the official os for my bold..i find that the leaked os did not have a memory leak problem. Now I am trying to find the leaked os to reload back into my bb....anyone having same finding as me?

First time that the leaked is better than the official version...enough of rebooting my phone once a day!!!!
  • rexyme
Hi...thanks for the suggestion. But that was what I did. Tried many times but didn't work. If i use Desktop manager, the OS5.0 always has the * which indicates that it is only for active blackberry service subscribers.
  • rexyme
Hi hi..has anyone tried this new OS 5.0 out? any highlights? thanks:)
  • @rexyme: I am still suffering from the memory leak issue, did i find any solution to it?
