The official BlackBerry Facebook page just posted a note about a new Facebook app that allows you to share your BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) PIN by creating a unique barcode. Once you create this unique barcode you’ll be able to:

• Show it off on your Facebook profile pic
• Feature it on your Facebook profile page
• Share it on your BlackBerry screen

To get started with this new service head to apps.facebook.com/bb_barcodegenerator from your desktop browser. Once there you enter our BBM PIN and then continue. In the next screen you’ll be able to choose a “theme” for your barcode which is basically just nine two-tone colors. After you choose the theme you can then put it in your Facebook profile picture, show the barcode on your profile page or send it to your BlackBerry by email.

I wonder if this is one of the “exciting things coming for BlackBerry Messenger“. My guess is yes since it suggests downloading BBM 5.0, but I hope there’s more than just sharing your PIN on Facebook. The web app is pretty cool, though.
