I finally got around to upgrading my BlackBerry Bold 9700 to the leaked OS 5.0.0.586 today. Everyone knows (or should know) that after upgrading an OS you have to set up all your applications again and for RIM’s own apps that means confirming the various terms and conditions. Once I got to Twitter for BlackBerry I jumped right to the bottom and was about to hit “I Accept,” but some text directly above it stuck out to me.

According to the new agreement from the leaked version 1.0.0.37 of Twitter for BlackBerry, the test period has been extended:

Test Period: Subject to the terms and conditions of this Agreement, the Pilot Test shall expire on June 30, 2010.

This is a big disappointment especially considering the rumor that RIM would release the app on March 31st, the original test period expiration date. Has anyone heard anything more about RIM’s Twitter app and its official release date?
