BerryReader Google Reader App For BlackBerry Updated With A Few Bug Fixes & New Features

Last week I posted about a new application called BerryReader, a new Google Reader app from Bellshare. BerryReader offers a bunch of great features including fully syncing to your Google Reader account online, manage subscriptions, read while offline and more. The first release of the app received some criticism since it kept crashing for many but Bellshare has fixed this problem, a few others and added some features in version 1.0.32:

• Fixed ‘process terminated’ bug
• Fixed thumbnails being reloaded on every UI launch
• Added new feedback menu item that redirects to this forum
• Changed feed select list to show tags above feeds
• Clicking links in articles will open links in browser right away instead of showing context menu
• Fixed sign up link in login screen not working

If you’ve looked high and low for a good Google Reader app for BlackBerry, look no further. This is probably the best third party app available and I expect Bellshare will continue to improve it. Some of the features I’d like to see are Twitter and Facebook integration, import feeds (maybe with an online interface) and a “subscribe to feed” option while browsing the web through the BlackBerry browser.

BerryReader is available in the store for $9.95 with a free trial and will work on all BlackBerry devices running OS 4.2 or higher. The latest update is available as a free upgrade to existing users.
