BlackBerry Bold 9800 Slider Launching On August 15 Through AT&T, According To BlackBerry Partners Fund’s John Albright

Here’s some very exciting info courtesy of MobileBeat. According to the MobileBeat post, earlier today John Albright of the BlackBerry Partners Fund spoke at the paidContent Mobile Conference in New York. Whether it was a slip up or on purpose, Mr. Albright mentioned that the BlackBerry Bold 9800 slider will be launching through AT&T on August 15th!

VentureBeat spoke to Albright at the conference, and he confirmed with us that the new device is indeed the 9800 (he didn’t mention a name, but said it had a touchscreen and slide-out keyboard), and that thousands of developers already have their hands on the phone.

Very exciting! This confirmed detail goes along with many of the rumors we’ve heard so far so hopefully an August launch will happen. Of course RIM hasn’t directly mentioned the launch of the new BlackBerry slider so we’re waiting on them, but we’ll take John Albright’s comments!

For more about the slider check out the Bold 9800 Archives.
