CrossTalk App To Integrate All IM Networks Including BlackBerry Messenger?!

Here’s an interesting rumor. According to GizmoFusion, an application called CrossTalk is being developed to allow instant messaging across multiple networks. We’ve seen many apps that allow instant messaging through multiple networks but the difference with CrossTalk is the developers are claiming they’ll also be able to integrate BlackBerry Messenger!
There’s no info on which platform this app will be available through, but as you can see in the screenshots above, so far it’s heading to Android devices. Right now there’s no obvious sign that BBM is integrated yet and the reason I don’t think it’s possible is BBM relies on a BlackBerry’s PIN, meaning they’d have to find a way to connect the app to a BlackBerry to verify it. The developers say the app will be available as a beta shortly so I guess we’ll find out soon enough.
BBM has been one of RIM’s biggest advantages, so much so that they’ve pushed BBM ads on the streets and through a bunch of new TV commercials. If these developers are successful at integrating BBM (unlikely but you never know), I wonder how it will affect RIM.
