![]() | RIM Co-CEO Jim Balsillie Quickly Demos The BlackBerry PlayBook, Confirms NFC Chips For Mobile Commerce |
Every time I see the BlackBerry PlayBook I want it more and more. Let me tell you, early 2011 can’t come soon enough. The latest demo video comes to us courtesy of RIM Co-CEO Jim Balsillie and the team over at Engadget. The video was quickly put together in the hallway of a hotel down at the Web 2.0 Summit but clearly shows some of the PlayBook’s strengths in regards to software and speed.
Balsillie also commented on a “module cavity” in the PlayBook which will likely be used for adding WWAN capabilities. Another possibility is this module cavity could be for the NFC chips I mentioned earlier. While discussing the NFC chips, Balsillie says “we’d be fools not to have it in the near-term, and we are not fools”.
Lots of good stuff in the works for RIM and BlackBerry devices. Check out the video below for a quick demo of the BlackBerry PlayBook.
