RIM is officially launching the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet tomorrow and it looks like they’re still working on some last-minute Tablet OS updates. Version 1.0.1.1690 of the Tablet OS is now available for download through the BlackBerry Desktop Manager and through the PlayBook’s OTA (over-the-air) update option. Here’s the details for this update according to the Desktop Manager:
This update includes enhancements to the BlackBerry Tablet OS.
Chances are RIM will be pushing out a few updates this week especially since the PlayBook will be publicly available for purchase. If you already have one connect it to the Desktop Manager to update the Tablet OS or click on the update notification in the PlayBook’s top bar. The PlayBook notification looks like a white and grey box with a green arrow going through it, pointing down. I’ve included a screenshot of it below. The other way you can update the Tablet OS through the PlayBook is by opening the Options screen and selecting Software Updates in the menu to the left.
I’ll be making a video on how to update the Tablet OS through the PlayBook so stay tuned!
