Things are so far on schedule for RIM and the BlackBerry PlayBook. As promised in the BlackBerry App World description for BlackBerry Bridge, since the PlayBook is officially launching today, so is BlackBerry Bridge. Right now it looks like the app is still rolling out since I can’t download it yet through my BlackBerry smartphone but the online webstore does have a download option. Here’s the description from App World:
BlackBerry Bridge mirrors the existing email, PIM and browser apps that are running on your BlackBerry smartphone, allowing you to view those apps on the BlackBerry PlayBook’s larger display
This description is a bit different from the one I posted yesterday so here’s that one too:
BlackBerry Bridge, you can connect your BlackBerry PlayBook tablet to your BlackBerry smartphone to access email, calendars, and more. From your tablet, you can connect to files stored on a media card and browse the Internet using your wireless connection. If your smartphone uses a BlackBerry Enterprise Server, and Intranet browsing is enabled by your IT administrator, you can also browse your organization’s intranet.
Not sure why RIM cut down the description but I’m sure they have their reasons. Now that this app is available I’ll be putting together a video on how to set it up and use it. For now check out BlackBerry Bridge in App World at this link but if you don’t see it right away, keep checking and don’t forget to let me know what you think in the comments!
