Poynt Introduces Pairing For BlackBerry PlayBook – Transfer & Interact With Info On A BlackBerry Smartphone!

By Mauricio

While at the BlackBerry World conference I ran into Margaret from Poynt who let me know about an awesome new feature for their application on the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet. With Poynt on your PlayBook and BlackBerry smartphone you’ll be able to easily transfer information between devices to interact with it. Here are some of the details:

The new version of Poynt for BlackBerry smartphones allows users to pair their BlackBerry smartphone with their BlackBerry® PlayBook™ to combine the convenience of viewing listings on the PlayBook tablet’s larger display while using the BlackBerry® smartphone to interact with the search results. Users can call businesses, add addresses to the address book or add events to the calendar on their smartphone. Mapping and directions can also be pushed to the smartphone.

Poynt for BlackBerry PlayBook delivers the same search categories users have come to expect from Poynt. Users can search for businesses, people, movies, events, restaurants, gas prices and weather information in their local area. Once users have located their desired listing, they can click-to-map, get directions, view movie showtimes and trailers, buy tickets, view restaurant reviews and book dining reservations all without leaving the App.

Besides for the new features mentioned above, the latest release also includes the ability to share listings with friends through Facebook, sharing through Twitter and email already exists. If you don’t already have Poynt on your BlackBerry smartphone or PlayBook tablet, I highly recommend you download it ASAP. It’s a must have application that’s very useful and the best part is, it’s available for free! For more info go to poynt.com or check out the video demo and press release below.

“The BlackBerry® platform continues to innovate with this latest device launch,” said Andrew Osis, CEO, Poynt Corp. “By pairing their BlackBerry smartphone with their PlayBook, users can take advantage of the larger format of the PlayBook while still taking advantage of all the features Poynt has to offer on their existing BlackBerry smartphone.”
