BBM Social Platform Beta For Developers Updated

Speaking of the BBM Social Platform, RIM recently released a new beta version for BlackBerry developers. According to the Inside BlackBerry Developer’s Blog, this update allows developers to do on-device testing. Here’s how to get started:

To get started, download the latest version of the BBM Social Platform beta from BlackBerry® Beta Zone. Next, compile and sign your app with this new build. Finally, download the beta version of BBM v6.0.0 – i.e. the 6.0 version of the BBM app itself – which is the version of BBM that will support apps using the BBM Social Platform.

To download BBM 6.0 go to blackberry.com/beta and log in or sign up, then select the program called “(Consumer) BlackBerry Messenger 6.0” and join it. For more info and to download the BBM Social Platform software go to us.blackberry.com/developers/blackberrymessenger or read RIM’s blog post here.
