Blackberry 10 is Pro-Battery Conservation

It has hardly been a couple of weeks since BB 10′s ‘L- series’ and ‘N-series’ leaked images flashed on the internet along with their specifications. And now we have images of RIM’s upcoming BlackBerry Messenger app that got leaked recently.

We got hold of some leaked images of BlackBerry 10 Messenger app, and got to know about a few interesting facts like it will feature darker themes and colors which will result in 25% reduction in battery consumption on BlackBerry 10 devices.

Battery Consumption

Besides introducing black theme and darker colors this time, there is also an OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) screen which will be used to ensure that BB 10 phones do not consume a lot of battery. You might be wondering how an OLED screen is related to battery consumption. Well this type of screen consumes the minimum power as compared to other screens, and so your battery will last longer.

OLED refers to next-generation electronic display technology and it offers many benefits in comparison to traditional LCD displays. One of the most significant advantages which OLED has got over conventional LCD displays is that it doesn’t require backlight function, which results in low power consumption.

There is no doubt that RIM has decided to make the most of OLED screens by incorporating them in the new BB 10 models. After going through the latest reports talking about BB 10 Messenger app, it seems that RIM has focused a lot on battery consumption issue and has left no stone unturned in making sure that this phone beats iPhone and Android in the battery arena, but the important question is- is enhancing battery life enough? Will RIM be able to face strong competitors who are working hard to further improve their handsets? The competition is tough as we all know, but RIM is certainly not losing it.

These is no denying the fact that BB 10′s success means a lot to RIM, especially at a time when the smartphone war is getting more intense with every passing day. RIM will have to make sure this time that not only Blackberry loyal fans get to see some incredible surprising cool apps, but those who never paid attention to BB before too are drawn by fabulous new revamped appearance and features of BB 10 models.

According to few BB fans, fresh look of BB Messenger is entirely different from its predecessor Messenger app. The battery conservation feature is a move that was lacking from the smartphone industry from a long time. Apart from that, its color customization has also received thumbs up by many fans.

Overall we can say that upcoming BB 10 handsets will feature some major significant changes, which surely won’t go unnoticed, but RIM must remember that there are still many miles to go before they take a break. Battery consumption and a great new type of keyboard are just starters. I hope to see some great apps in the Blackberry App World. That’s one area Blackberry has to pay more attention to.
