![]() | Spotify For BlackBerry is (Finally) Here… |
According to the latest reports, the well-known music app, Spotify, has finally arrived on App World. Tuesday became a memorable day for BlackBerry owners who love music as they could now use Spotify to get their favorite tracks. So far, Spotify app was available on all kind of mobile phones including Windows phone, Apple iPhones, Android-based smartphones, Symbian OS based devices etc. but not Blackberry.
Spotify app is basically designed to make the whole experience of music exploring and listening a lot easier. Users can find and play soundtracks on their phones. Streaming music is of course a very attractive feature of Spotify, but simplicity is what makes this app extremely adorable among music lovers. No wonder why Blackberry fans were awaiting this incredible music app.
In order to avail the services provided by Spotify, a user first needs to subscribe for its premium plan. The premium plan offers freedom to play your favorite music tracks from the catalog of music which is given inside the app. You can even play a particular playlist that you created.
As far as exploring music is concerned, the premium plan allows a user to discover new and diverse tracks along with allowing him to browse for different albums and artists. This plan also facilitates users to look for new music, and to receive and send tracks to friends. No wonder Spotify has been famous among Android and iPhone fans. I wonder what took this app so long to come on Blackberry.
The biggest advantage offered by Spotify is that you can create a playlist which you can use even offline. So when you don’t have any reception and still want to listen to some good old tracks that you saved on a playlist, you can!
If you don’t have an Android or an iPhone and thus don’t know much about Spotify, make sure you read its description on the Blackberry App World page before downloading it. It has a free trial of 30 days, and then you have to pay to use this app.
Spotify is currently compatible with Blackberry Bold 9780, Bold 9700, Curve 9300, Bold 9000, and Curve 8520. Unfortunately, Spotify only runs on phones featuring GSM networks; CDMA phones and Blackberry Torch 9800 are not friendly with this app. So
I guess I have to wait for some time before running Spotify.
RIM is undoubtedly exploring all avenues in order to keep existing users happy but it is difficult to say that small benefits offered to Blackberry users will stop them from switching over to other rival phones like iPhones and Android.
Offering Spotify app will work like a charm for RIM or not will be revealed in due course of time, but this fact can’t be denied that even a small effort by RIM can make a big difference, provided if luck favors them. As of now, we can say that Blackberry has certainly earned brownie points by offering one of the most admired music apps. If you have a compatible Blackberry, go get Spotify on it.
