RIM Trying to Get Instagram-Like Features on Blackberry

It appears that RIM’s top management is barking up the wrong tree. While it should dedicate maximum time and focus to important crucial matters, it is more bothered about handling media. It is giving more importance to addressing press media, marketing world tours and media interviews. Of course handing PR related things have become very important in today’s world but at the same time these activities shouldn’t be at the cost of other important matters- that too when a company has a deadline to sort out things before the situation gets out of control.

People have started wondering what RIM is actually up to now days. It seems that RIM’s top management has turned deaf ears to the reports which are full of criticism about the laid-back attitude of the top management. Critics are leaving no stone unturned in making everyone believe that Heins is not giving the required efforts to solve RIM’s problems and he is only tinkering around the edges. No one knows about what’s happening inside the four walls of RIM’s workplace. We can’t deny the fact that it is time to cut the cackle and get down to business.

Fans have been waiting for upcoming BB 10 models, which are expected to be much more dynamic and user-friendly than previous BB smartphones, but it appears that instead of striking while the iron is hot, RIM has further increased the turbulences by delaying up much-discussed BB 10 models till 2013.

Though there is still a way to make up for the delay, which is sprucing up the next BB 10 platform with cutting edge and radical features.

RIM is putting its best efforts to this task. According to a recent report, RIM is developing incredible photo editing characteristics that somewhat bear a resemblance with the filter settings of Instagram.

According to some sources, photo enhancement elements, frames, in-built filters and transformations are something which will fascinate the users of BB 10 smartphones.

Though it is difficult to say if it is a genuine inspiration which came to RIM or it is merely an attempt to attract more users by imitating its rivals, who did earn some brownie points and accolades for coming up with innovative camera features including photo-editing features.

Considering the fact that Instagram has carved a niche for itself in offering incredible photo features and filter settings, Blackberry is keen in incorporating similar kinds of features in its forthcoming BB 10 smartphones. RIM’s interest in Instagram also comes from the fact that its arch-rivals have already explored avenues regarding developing Instagram like app qualities for their cellphones.

Exploring possibilities for developing new features is always a great thing, both for a company who is striving to deliver its best and for end-users as well but Blackberry lives up to the reputation of being one of the best corporate business phone. Taking this into consideration, we still can’t be sure if this new development would really pay off in long run or no. After all, building one USP at the cost of another is not a wise thing.
