Though RIM’s upcoming BB 10 smartphones have indeed become the talk of the town, but people are mostly clueless about the details of their processors. And though RIM has been regularly updating media about the progress of BB 10, it hasn’t spilled the beans yet regarding the hardware aspect of brand new super phones.

BB 10 Phones to Be Powered by Snapdragon S4 Pro Processors Nevertheless, Blackberryos.com had inkling that BB 10 models will be powered by none other than highly sophisticated and advanced Pro MSM8960T Qualcomm processor featuring an S4 chip. They claim that a highly reliable source has reported this information. This S4 chip of Snapdragon has already created ripples in the tech world because of its functionality which reflects its abilities on cell phones. Being an ARM based processor, this Dual Krait wizard of Snapdragon, clocked at 1.5 GHz, is known for its exclusivity for offering incredible resolutions and displaying amazing multitasking capabilities. Some tech analysts are really eager to see the impact of this outstanding Qualcomm processor featuring S4 chip when it would be paired up with the advanced BB 10 smartphone. If you have any idea about the power of Qualcomm processor with S4, you must be excited to behold an outstanding combo like this.

If these reports are true then this won’t be the first time when Qualcomm would join hands with RIM because Qualcomm S2 chips were very much a part of BB 7 devices.

The most appealing aspect of the Snapdragon power packed processor is that it caters to multitasking processors as it manages to blend the app processor and GPU; both in a single chipset, that too in a very efficient manner. The GPU featuring Adreno 320 is capable of offering mind blowing video experience as WUXGA comprises 1080 pixel resolutions. Apart from that, this chip also features a mode called, ‘World Mode’, and lends supports for TDD/ FDD CAT 3 powered by LTE connectivity, TD-SCDMA, EGAL, SVLTE-DB, 1x Adv., GSM/EDGE/GPRS, etc. This mobile GPU certainly outshines other related players in the same field.

Qualcomm is a firm that can achieve success by developing these chips powered by LTE. No wonder why Samsung was impressed with these radical chips, and before shipping the devices to U.S, it decided to ditch its own quad core processor in favor of Qualcomm LTE chips for its revolutionary 3rd gen smartphone- Samsung III.

BB 10 Phones to Be Powered by Snapdragon S4 Pro Processors This has been already divulged by RIM that they have standardized their screen resolutions, and accordingly their smartphone models featuring touch screens will comprise of 1280*720 pixel resolutions, and the models featuring physical keyboards will comprise of 720*720 pixel resolutions. RIM has also disclosed that they will gradually roll out 6 Blackberry devices one after another, during the next year. The ratio of BB 10 models featuring touch centric display and physical keyboard will be equal. i.e., 3:3.

The popularity of touch centric devices is growing by leaps and bounds, and other leading tech giants figured out the opportunity on the right time while RIM lagged behind and ended up in losing a significant market share. Anyway, it is never too late to mend, so let’s hope that RIM will be able to make an impressive comeback by correcting its former mistakes.
