Whenever a new device is on the verge of being released, rumors and images related to that device start cropping up online and the upcoming Blackberry 10 platform is no exception to this prevalent trend. From the past few days, leaks about RIM’s forthcoming BB 10 smartphones have been quite frequent. One of these leaks is a latest video that surfaced online few days back and grabbed people’s attention. In this video, it was demonstrated how a SIM card is inserted into BB 10 smartphones. The name of the device in this video is mentioned as ‘Liverpool’ & it is believed to be a part of BB 10 L series smartphones.
After that video, a new image cropped up online that showed how touch-centric smartphones look like. According to the web portal that displayed this image, BB 10 L-series will arrive earlier than N series.
Though, at this point of time there is barely any proper information available about the features and specifications of this model, but one thing is certain that this new handset will be equipped with 1800mAh LS1 removable battery. If reports are to be believed, this model will bear a striking resemblance with Apple’s next-gen iPhone 5 and will feature a gun-metal look.
As far as apps are concerned, RIM has paid much needed attention in incorporating & maintaining some interesting and cool apps like DocsToGo, Facebook, and Story Maker. Among these apps, StoryMaker is said to be made on the pattern of iMovie. Blackberry Messenger is also there in L-Series phones which has been RIM’s biggest selling point.
There are no qualms that RIM has tried to redefine its new OS BB 10 in a manner so that it can compete with cutting edge OS like iOS and Android. It seems that the needed tweak in the software is now really doing the trick. Display of unreleased smartphones is captivating people’s attention greatly. RIM recently updated a post on developer blog of BB regarding unreleased BB 10 OS screen resolutions. This blog basically talks about the alpha devices that have been made available to few developers. These devices feature 1280*768 screen resolution and runs on BB 10 OS. RIM has added on the blog that this particular screen resolution will be shipped for the first lot of BB 10 full touch-centric device.
It has been repeated time and again by this Canadian tech giant that besides rolling out touch-screen models, company will retain its QWERTY keyboard models which are believed to feature 720*720 screen resolutions. RIM has also confirmed the standardizations related to BB 10 devices featuring 1280*720 screen resolutions and 720*720 resolutions.
Besides revealing some info about forthcoming BB 10 devices, the blog also presented suggestions for developers who are keen on developing full screen applications for BB 10 OS. RIM explained further that developers may either modify their app for every resolution in order to ensure complete utilization of full screen resolution of different BB 10 devices or they may try letter boxing their applications to 1280*720 by laying 24 pixels on screen’s both sides.
