![]() | Canada’s Leading Carrier TELUS to Offer Blackberry 10? |
Currently, Research in Motion is completely engaged in its world tour with the motive to show a glimpse of its forthcoming BB 10 smartphones to selected partners and media people. It is high time for RIM to shape up or ship out and since there is not much time left in BB 10 phones release deadline, officials of RIM are going to be working down to the wire. Frank Boulben (RIM’s new chief marketing officer) is confident about performance of forthcoming BB 10 models and he is also positive about the fact that RIM will be able to impress leading carriers and they will lend their complete support to this tech company.
If latest reports are to be believed, TELUS (one of the largest carriers in Canada), may consider offering new BB 10 super phones to its customers. This sounds like a lucrative deal for both TELUS and RIM. RIM will be able to garner the much needed support and for TELUS, it will be a clear step towards expanding its customer base. According to James Bishop (Product Marketing Manager at TELUS) & Brent Johnston (VP Mobility Solutions, TELUS), their company is looking forward to offer more choices in terms of contract plans, rate plans & handsets.
Brent Johnston opined that the manner in which carrier would enjoy a special handset treatment has really changed now. Carriers are feeling the heat of the strong competition and due to that they need to put more efforts in their marketing strategies.
In the view point of Mr. Johnston, there remains one issue which might affect current & future sales of BB handsets. The manner, in which employees of various carriers will perceive Blackberry 10 and the understanding of BB 10 phones which they will possess, is something that will play a crucial role in the success aspect of RIM’s upcoming smartphones. He added further that as far as TELUS is concerned, his company ensures that its employees do not show biasness towards any specific manufacturer, since that could prove to be detrimental to the growth of other carriers. Every single employee of TELUS believes in catering to the customized needs of customers and their focus is on offering best services to their clients, instead of lending favors to some particular manufacturers.
Mr. Johnston denied commenting on forthcoming BB 10 models and said that since he hasn’t got a glimpse of new BB 10 so at this moment he would prefer not to comment on the same. Brent Johnston also confessed that he hasn’t seen the finished look of new BB 10 smartphones yet, but he is quite optimistic about the manner in which end-users will approach them. He also stated that products & services of Blackberry hold a great significance for TELUS customers. TELUS will ensure the needed support to RIM but ultimately it will be RIM which needs to take responsibility of finest quality of BB 10 smartphones.
