Facebook For BlackBerry Updated to Version 3.2

In an attempt to take BlackBerry brand to the next level, RIM has announced and introduced a Facebook application update for the current Blackberry OS to version 3.2. The new update was announced by the makers in the second week of September, and users got the update from next day itself. Of course, there is a lot of hoopla in the market about this brand new update of Blackberry for the fastest growing and biggest social networking site. Here is what you can expect from the new Facebook update of Blackberry.

At the first place, new Facebook for Blackberry brings some extremely colorful icons that are designed for that perfect look. The system of birthday alerts has been enhanced. Yes, this is the same function that allows users to integrate birthdays of their friends on Facebook with the list on their Blackberry calendar. Like many others, you may argue that the feature is not new, but the update offers you the perfect option for customization, which is better than before. You also get a button that will allow you to post a perfect birthday message on the wall of your friend.

The new FB app update will bring the Facebook Inc. event support. This new feature is extremely well crafted and will allow you to get all the information regarding any event and even post messages on the wall. You can also check the profiles of other users who have been invited and can get all the necessary notifications about the event right on your BB phone.

It is pertinent to mention that the app was developed by RIM, and is different than some of the other Facebook applications for other mediums that were invented by Facebook. While it cannot be denied that RIM is working hard on managing and developing applications, it is equally true that the makers are moving at a slow rate if compared to other mobile OS system with the updates. The current competitive smartphone industry is all about lower costs of apps and offering cutting edge technology. In such a rat race, RIM is much behind its peers. As far as their growth is concerned, they are trying hard to match with Apple, Google and Samsung, who are their biggest threats in the market. In such times, RIM needs to fasten its seat belts to take on the ride of competition.
