We’ve been covering all the best news for today following the BB10 launch, but no doubt you’ve been wondering when the real news is going to arrive. Just what am I talking about exactly? Well, the actual release of Blackberry 10 devices to consumers of course!
Now that, we know the two primary Blackberry 10 devices will be the Z10 and the Q10, at least in an official capacity, it only makes sense that everyone is waiting to hear when they can get their hands on them.
During the launch event, Blackberry CEO Thorsten Heins announced the worldwide release dates for the new products. We’ve compiled everything into a neat little list, which you can peruse below.
- In the UK, the Blackberry Z10 will be available, starting tomorrow through EE, O2, Vodafone, Phones 4U, BT, 3UK, and the Carphone Warehouse. The Z10 will be available at a fully subsidized price with monthly pay contracts, like most other phones. Blackberry promises that the prices will be “competitive,” yet they will vary depending on where they are purchased.
- In Canada, the Blackberry Z10 will be available starting February 5th. Again, the initial price of the phone will vary depending on where it is purchased. The average price is listed at $149.99 through a 3 year contract.
- In the UAE, the Blackberry Z10 will be available starting on February 10th. Unsubsidized prices will start around AED 2,599, off contract obviously.
- In the US, carriers will begin shipping Blackberry Z10 devices in March. However, you can pre-register for a device starting today through most carriers supporting the new platform. Prices will be announced at a later date, along with the respective mobile plans.
As for the Blackberry Q10, it will launch much later in April. Pricing and availability will also be announced around that time.
So there you have it! Of course, we expect a lot more information to be announced in the coming months so be sure to stay tuned here at Blackberry Rocks for more!
Personally, I’m a little disappointed that we’ll have to wait until March to get our hands on the Z10 here in the States. Although, it’s a much shorter wait this time around, especially when you consider that we’ve been waiting for more than a year. Surely we can all wait just a little longer for the awesomeness (yes I used that word) that is Blackberry 10.
What do you think of the release dates? Are you happy with the delay and availability?
