rgeorge is conducting a poll over at BlackBerry Forums to see how many are interested in ColorPearl for 8100 on OS 4.5. With enough interest, he might create a ColorPearl that will work on OS 4.5. If he does go through with creating this application, it would be FREE!
Who wouldn’t be interested!? I’m joining just to vote on that poll .
I suggest everyone who has an 8100 and wants ColorPearl for OS 4.5 go over and vote right now!
ColorPearl allows you to change the color of the trackball on your BlackBerry Pearl.
Note: The ONLY BlackBerry that this will work on is the Pearl/8100! It is the only device with the colored LEDs behind the trackball. There will not be a version for the 8800, Curve/8300, Pearl 2/8120/8130. Blame RIM, not me!

JuiceCaster, the leading mobile social media application, is now available for one the most popular Blackberry devices via a free beta application for users in the United States. For a limited time, Blackberry(R) Curve(TM) users can sign-up to receive the JuiceCaster beta at www.juicecaster.com/blackberry. The free beta application is available to users of the Blackberry Curve (8310) for AT&T, and the Blackberry Curve (8330) for Verizon Wireless. In the coming weeks, the free beta will be opened up for Blackberry Pearl users, and for Blackberry users in Europe.
I myself will not be able to use this since I have a Pearl, so I hope some of you will leave some feedback about it. It seems like it would be a pretty cool application.
Please remember that this is a beta, so make a backup just in case .

Ever wonder how “healthy” your BlackBerry is? BoxTone has recently started a limited beta for their new application, myBoxToneInsight. This application runs in the background and records your BlackBerry’s performance trends. With that information it can tell you how healthy your BlackBerry is.
Here is what myBoxToneInsight monitors:
Signal strength
Battery remaining
Memory free
Data sent/received
Calls made/duration
Best of all, this application is currently free. Please remember that this application is in beta and does not come with a warranty or support. With that in mind, always make a backup before testing out betas .

Ian Chard, panel judge and Analyst at Juniper Research says, “Supporting one-click transfer of digital content between mobile phones and 50+ social web destinations, geo-tagging, mobile-to-web messaging, and behavioural targeted advertising, ShoZu offers mobile network operators an established, all-round Mobile Web 2.0 on/off-deck turnkey platform. The average user is said to generate 20 network ‘events’ (i.e. content uploads/downloads) per month, with heavy users generating in excess of 100 events per month. This success demonstrates what can be achieved if users have the right tools available. ShoZu has partnered with Telecom Italia, Singapore’s StarHub and 3 (Austria and UK) under revenue-share agreements, while shipping as an embedded application on Motorola and Samsung handsets. By providing the mobile web equivalent of a DVR (Digital Video Recorder) and catering to the needs of the prosumer, ShoZu is a deserving Gold winner this year.”
The top award of the Future Mobile Awards was given to Shozu in the category of “mobile web 2.0.” According to Juniper Research, Shozu has made a significant contribution to their sector and is poised to make considerable market impact in the future.
