Before I get busy for the day I wanted to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! I’m ready to relax with friends, family and of course, plenty of good eats. If you’re traveling today be careful on the roads and on those flights since today is one of the busiest days of the year for travelers. Yesterday Google finally announced that Google+ is available for Google Apps users. Up until yesterday only Gmail users could sign up for Google+. Since Google+ Pages launched for businesses and brands I figured I’d go ahead and make one for BlackBerryRocks.com for those of you that prefer it to other social networks, or just like to collect profiles .

I’m still getting the hang of it but you can be sure it will be maintained just like our Twitter and Facebook profiles. Check it out here or go to gplus.to/blackberryrocks and don’t forget to follow us on other networks through the buttons in the sidebar!

Besides for covering all the announcements, press releases and other news bits from RIM, Jerome (@jcarty) and Leon (@Lchampagnie) will be on-site for BBRocks.com to bring you a live blog of the General Session as well as photos, videos and more. BlackBerryRocks.com is already on a bunch of social networks like Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube but we’ve recently joined another social network that many BlackBerry Rockers are also a fan of…Foursquare!

As a brand on Foursquare we plan to offer tips on different locations like vendors and venues that are offering discounts on BlackBerry devices and other related products. Maybe Starbucks is offering discounts for customers who check-in with an application like the Foursquare for BlackBerry app, or RIM is having another “Tour” like the recent PlayBook Tour and you want to know about it. We will also start checking in at future BlackBerry events like BlackBerry DevCon and BlackBerry World so if you use the free BlackBerry app, you’ll get all our updates right in the app.

Today is a great day to be a BlackBerry Rocker! For a while now BlackBerryRocks.com has been a news and info site on everything BlackBerry but just as a blog. I recently decided to open up BBRocks.com to everyone by adding forums so you can all talk about anything BlackBerry-related with some off-topic forums. I’m happy to announce that the BBRocks.com Forums are now in open beta!

The Forums have been in testing for a short while now to make sure it was stable enough for a public launch. As I’m sure many of you have noticed, this week I mentioned the Forums on Twitter and Facebook just to give you a sneak peek. As of today the Forums are officially available for registration by everyone although still in beta. Some of the forums available to post in are forums for each official and rumored BlackBerry device series, for BlackBerry OS releases, desktop and server software, apps, games, themes, developer forums, “Introduce Yourself” forums, BlackBerry PIN Exchange, BlackBerry Meetups and much more. Today I’m flying down to Orlando, FL for the BlackBerry World conference, RIM’s biggest BlackBerry event of the year. For those of you that weren’t around when I mentioned it, WES became part BlackBerry World back in December and this event is supposed to deliver a “bigger and better 360-view of everything BlackBerry”. Among expected announcements like what the future of the BlackBerry Platform will be, many are expecting them to make some bigger announcements including one for the BlackBerry Bold 9900 (aka Bold Touch) and hopefully other devices. I’ll be on site at the event to cover everything I can and bring you as many news bits and updates as possible with photos, videos, liveblogs and more.
