If you haven’t gotten one yet here’s your chance to save an extra $50 when purchasing the Bold 9700 with a new 2 year contract from our store for $149.99, compared to $199.99 if you get it from T-Mobile. If you’re already a T-Mobile customer you can get it for the same price as a new activation if you extend your contract by 2 years. The retail price is the same so without a contract it will still be $449.99.

This post will help me in a few ways, the most important one being the results of the poll above.
I am always looking for ways to help you (the readers) when it comes to browsing and connecting with BBRocks! I want to know if it would help you to know what the topic of a post is by including it in the post’s title. In this way you would know just from the title what you are reading about while at BBRocks.com or if you are viewing the BBRocks! Twitter account, Facebook page, LinkedIn Group or have subscribed to the BBRocks! RSS Feed.
The other way this post will help me is by testing the new polling system I have chosen to use, PollDaddy. A new category for all Polls on BBRocks! has been created and I plan to do polls more often to get your feedback on certain topics. You can also view all of the polls created here at answers.polldaddy.com/blackberryrocks.
Please cast your vote above and feel free to share your thoughts in the comments.

This past Friday (the 13th) I posted an important “emergency maintenance” notice letting you all know that BBRocks! might experience some down time, but thanks to our new host (HostGator) and an upgraded server the changeover was quick and painless. This emergency maintenance post did not sync with the server changeover which is why nothing was posted on Friday, to prevent their loss.
As of yesterday the majority of visitors should be able to view BBRocks! without a problem.
The details…the old host was extremely unreliable, as many of you saw with the various and random outages that occurred with BBRocks! Their support was lacking and almost non-existent and their service was atrocious. I should have done a bit more hosting research and for that I apologize to all readers who had to deal with the outages. Live and learn right?
I haven’t been on the HostGator server for more than two days and am already pleased with their service and support. They should prove to be very helpful with ensuring you all have a pleasant and quick browsing experience at BBRocks!
Thanks for your patience and as always, I appreciate your readership!

As many of you have noticed, BBRocks! experienced some down time today for reasons unknown at this time. The outage is still being investigated and I am doing what I can to make sure these outages are minimal to non-existent.
The site should be up and running again and to make sure that it is I am posting this as a way to check. If everything goes well it should sync across the BBRocks! Twitter and Facebook accounts, and all who are subscribed to the RSS feed should also receive this update.
I would appreciate it if everyone let me know that the site is back up and running for them and where they are in the world, and whether or not you even experienced an outage with BBRocks! Thanks for your patience!

Exactly one year ago this very minute BlackBerryRocks.com went live and since then has grown in so many ways, all thanks to you, the readers!
It’s been a long and fun ride, at times getting a bit rough but all in all very much worth my time, work and effort. I’m not sure if many of you remember but BlackBerryRocks.com was originally MetroBerry.com for a short while before I made the name change. At that time everything on the site was basic with no tutorials, no dedicated pages like what it has now, no stores, no structure, almost no readers.
Believe it or not I was once an amateur theme creator and the original purpose of MetroBerry.com was to showcase the themes I would have created. Once I got into blogging about everything BlackBerry…it was all downhill (in a good way) from there.
After two months as MetroBerry.com I felt a name change was necessary, and so BlackBerryRocks.com was created. I completely re-designed the site and created the logo from scratch. I had no idea BBRocks! would become the site it is today, having amassed a very sizable following and becoming acquainted with a bunch of awesome people in the process.
The site name and logo were both inspired by two of the things I enjoy most: my BlackBerry and Rock music. How did I come up with them? It’s actually a funny, quick story. I was burning out trying to think of a new site name and a logo that would work with it. I had some rock music on in the background while I was brainstorming, and randomly grabbed my BlackBerry while forming the “Rock Devil Horns,” the hand signal commonly seen at rock concerts. Everything clicked at once and it was the perfect, fun way to show the awesomeness that is BlackBerry.
And so here we are an entire year later. I have some plans for BBRocks! that I hope to see come to fruition soon. Just a preview…site and logo redesign, regular reviews with video, regular giveaways and a few other things I won’t mention just yet .
Speaking of giveaways, I know it’s BBRocks!’s first birthday but as it’s already been given the gift of awesome readers, I’ve decided to give back to the readers with a bunch of contests where you could win BlackBerry applications, themes, games and accessories!
Keep an eye on BBRocks! throughout the day for the contest posts. You won’t be disappointed .

A few weeks back I posted about the new BlackBerry OS page here at BBRocks! but at the time it wasn’t formatted for viewing through the mobile version.
I have created a basic mobile version of the BlackBerry OS page without links or dates which can be used as a reference for what the latest OS (both official and leaked) for your specific BlackBerry device is. You can see an example in the screenshot above.
I’ve been using bit.ly for quite some time, for everything I do on the web. Bit.ly is, in my opinion, the best URL shortening site. Not to mention that there is a free application for BlackBerry called bit.lify, which I’m hoping will be updated with more features in the future.
Today I decided to go crazy with bit.ly and bit.lified all the good stuff here on BlackBerry Rocks! You will now be able to save shorter links instead of the long ones, and they are very easy to remember.
Latest BlackBerry Operating Systems -> bit.ly/bbOS
All you have to do is replace the series number with your series number. I’ve put together a list of all the available bit.ly links for my site after the jump.
I will also be making a page dedicated to listing all my bit.lified links soon. Let me know what you think! { Continue reading }

Took a little time but I was finally able to create a page specifically for finding the latest available Operating System for your BlackBerry model.
This page includes links to that specific OS along with dates to let you know how long it’s been since the last OS (both official and leaked) was made available.
Subscribe to the BBRocks! Store Feeds to stay up-to-date on the latest BlackBerry software, accessories, special offers, best sellers and the deal of the day!
