BlackBerry Rocks! will be going through some changes this weekend.
Bad News: The site may be offline for a few hours at some point
Good News: When it’s back up it will be faster and better!
The changes and enhancements will allow BlackBerry Rocks! to properly sustain the amount of traffic it is receiving without the possibility of getting thrown offline (hopefully). Sorry for the inconvenience. Everything will be as quick and painless as possible .
Once everything is completed I will make an announcement post. Thanks for understanding.

*UPDATE* There may be a few things that appear weird or don’t work properly till I completely fix the problem. For example, because of the overflow I have to use a caching thing which is affecting the mobile version of BlackBerry Rocks! If you would like to visit the My Fav Apps OTA page go to blackberryrocks.com/my-fav-apps-ota/ and it will still come up, but not mobilized. Again, sorry for the inconvenience. I am working on improving the site so it will run faster without problems.
I ran into a problem with my host. Apparently someone is doing something very naughty that was causing my site to overflow the server, which is why BlackBerry Rocks! was brought offline.
In order to prevent incidents like this in the future I am taking steps to improve performance. I will update everyone as things move along.

Just wanted to remind everyone that navigating through the BlackBerry Rocks! site is pretty easy.
You can search for posts by BlackBerry model and by carrier, or just look through the category pages.
All posts are put into specific categories so it is easy to find what you are looking for. If you are looking for games you would check out Apps & Games, or for themes Themes & Wallpapers, and so on.
If you want to find something quickly you can search for it with the search box in the sidebar to the right. You can also subscribe to my RSS feed or follow me on Twitter.
Suggestions are welcome and can be sent to me through the contact form. If you are a company that is interested in advertising on BlackBerry Rocks! you can check out the advertising page.

I’m trying to do some background work on BlackBerry Rocks! so you might experience some errors. They aren’t a big deal, the site will normally come right back up afterwards. This is the reason I haven’t posted much today, but I will definitely finish posting before the end of the day.

Looks like I have to do some homework before I go through with changing the servers for BlackBerry Rocks! I will keep posting updates about server change so everyone can know when to expect site to be temporarily down.
If you encounter any website errors, 503 404 whatever, please let me know by using the contact form or sending and email to info[at]blackberryrocks[dot]com.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I am moving the site to a dedicated server.
Spoke to my host and apparently I’m getting spiked with traffic . Hopefully this will allow better viewing and faster loading for everyone. This change will happen over the course of 2 days from now. I’ll post again when the site might go down for the transition.
Along with the server move you can expect a new BlackBerry Rocks! site design by the end of the week.

After mentioning that I am more active with my Twitter page yesterday, I realized that it was a bit plain with just a solid green background.
Luckily for me I met a designer on Twitter who specializes in creating awesome backgrounds for Twitter pages. The company that heads the site is Design Offering, and the site who handles Twitter background design is Twitter Walls.
The cost for a custom Twitter background starts at $24.95. If you plan on using Twitter a lot and want it to look good to yourself and others, I definitely recommend checking out TwitterWalls. My overall experience with TwitterWalls was great. They really know how to bring your Twitter page to life with sharp designs and information boxes, like the way mine is in the screenshot above.
TwitterWalls will ask you questions to understand what kind of background you are looking for and work with you to find a design that is right for you.

Just when I thought there couldn’t be any more reason for me to be so attached to my BlackBerry, I discover how awesome Twitter is!
If you’re following me on Twitter you will have noticed that I have been posting a lot more rather than just allowing TwitterFeed to feed my posts to it.
It’s a great way to reach out to anyone and chat casually. You can also use Twitter to send me a message if you aren’t much for leaving comments or sending emails. I have my BlackBerry Twitter application pretty much on all the time now.
So go check out my Twitter page and try sending me a tweet .
