BlackBerry PlayBook OTA Software Loading Error Codes Explained
I’m sure many of you know that updating software doesn’t always work out as smoothly as we’d like it to, whether it’s from personal experience or you’ve seen someone else run into some issues. Like any device, software or platform, the BlackBerry PlayBook can also run into issues while updating its software. If you’ve had a problem loading the software on your PlayBook you probably got an error code but had no idea what it meant. Thanks to KB26732 in the BlackBerry Technical Solution Center, we now have descriptions for a bunch of those error codes.
Check out the full chart of error codes with their descriptions and some comments below!
What Developers Need To Know About The BlackBerry Bold 9900 & Bold 9930: Key Features, User Agents & More
With the BlackBerry Bold 9900 with the new BlackBerry 7 OS around the corner, I’m sure there are a bunch of developers interested in building for the new Bold Touch smartphone. RIM recently posted some info on the new Bold series that should give developers a good idea on what they’ll have to work with. I’ve included the info below which basically breaks down the Bold 9900/9930′s key features and user agents. RIM also says developers can continue to use their current WebWorks app in BlackBerry 7 “reaping the benefits of the improved JavaScript compiler as well as having the ability to take advantage of the additional HTML5 elements supported in BlackBerry 7.”
Check out the key features and user agent info below or go to blackberry.com/developers/blackberry7 for more.
Video: Live, Full Touch Demo Of The BlackBerry Bold 9900 & 9930!
Of course, one of the biggest announcements made at BlackBerry World this week is the upcoming BlackBerry Bold 9900 series smartphones. While I was able to get a nice video demo of it thanks to a RIM employee’s walkthrough, the area was so crowded that it’s a bit shaky and loud. Thanks to the team over at Inside BlackBerry however, we have a nice 3+ minute video demonstration of the Bold 9900 & 9930, powered by the new BlackBerry 7 OS. Check it out below and let me know what you think in the comments!
BlackBerry PlayBook Tablet Reviews, Previews, & Hands On Roundup From CES 2011 – Videos & Photos Galore!

Since I was unable to attend CES 2011 I figured I’d do a roundup of all the BlackBerry PlayBook news so BBRocks! readers don’t miss out. We still have yet to hear anything solid about the future of BlackBerry smartphones and since CES finishes up this weekend, the PlayBook might be RIM’s only focus for this event. RIM Co-CEO Mike Lazaridis did talk about their plans for a BlackBerry “super phone” but that’s about it.
Fortunately there’s plenty of interest in the BlackBerry PlayBook and now plenty of reviews, previews and hands on articles to go through. I was able to put together a roundup of 20 links for articles containing impressions, photos and videos about the PlayBook. Keep in mind this roundup of articles is limited to what was available at CES so while many of them may be similar, they each have their own impressions and questions answered.
Check out the roundup below and let me know what you think in the comments!
