UPDATE Thanks to benezblog, there is now a leaked version for other languages. Post updated below. *
Mac loving BlackBerry users, today’s your lucky day. CrackBerry Kevin has pointed out that a version of BlackBerry Desktop Manager for Mac has been leaked!
I know many of you have been anxiously awaiting the Mac version of BBDM. This BBDM for Mac is beta version 1.0.0 and because it’s leaked/beta software you should understand (before installing) that it isn’t guaranteed to be stable and might have bugs.
Install at your own risk. For more info about BBDM for Mac check out this sneak peak posted back in July or head on over to blackberry.com/mac.
It comes bundled with the Onyx (BlackBerry Bold 9700) and provides functions such as the IP modem. With this it is possible to use the BlackBerry as a modem.
As always with leaked/beta software, understand that this is not guaranteed to be stable and if you decide to install it you do so at your own risk.

“BlackBerry ringtones are a great way to customize your phone,” said Tim Goggin, VP Of Sales & Marketing. “Ringtones should be super simple to create and high quality. They shouldn’t come with burdensome and confusing pricing. And most of all, they shouldn’t be available only to Windows users. That’s where this software comes in.”
Features:
Visual Sound Editing — now users can visually edit ringtones by looking at the actual waveform of the sounds being played in realtime, with a zoom of up to 16x.
Volume Control — users can now boost the volume of any song or clip, with full undo.
Add fade-in/fade-out to any ringtone
Full compatibility/integration with QuickTime Pro. Copy and paste sounds between RTS and QuickTime or QuickTime Pro.
Better integration of video and waveform editing.
This software is available for $29.95. Users that have version 1.0 can upgrade for $9.95.

@saucewear let me know that someone she knows was able to update their BlackBerry Desktop Manager from v5.0.0.8 to v5.0.0.11 by connecting their BlackBerry Tour to their computer.
I tried to do it with my Curve 8900 but didn’t receive an update notice and I don’t see anything different on RIM’s Desktop Manager download page.
Was anyone else able to update their Desktop Manager by connecting their BlackBerry, or is this only available if you have a Tour?

A few days ago Verizon released BlackBerry Desktop Manager v5.0.0.8 to their customers. I just got an email tip that RIM has officially released the same version for everyone on their main Desktop Software download page!
This version of the BlackBerry Desktop Manager comes in either English or Multilanguage, and with or without a Media Manager. Make sure you download the correct version because there is a big difference in terms of the file size. For example, the smallest file size is the English only version with no Media Manager.

About a month ago BlackBerry Desktop Manager v5.0.0.8 was leaked, but some people may not like using unofficial software. Verizon has released the same BlackBerry Desktop Manager version which is now available for all to download.
If you go to the download page you will notice that you have to enter your Verizon Wireless number to gain access to the download. If you aren’t a Verizon customer, try using the number in the screenshot above. It worked for me .

Miguel let me know that RealNetworks has just released a free RealPlayer SP Beta application that converts videos for BlackBerry!
RealPlayer SP automatically converts video for playback on the powerful media player that comes on BlackBerry smartphones, delivering clear and vibrant video with great sound quality. And with microSD cards that currently support up to 16 GB per card, customers can easily expand storage to carry more videos wherever they go.
That’s awesome!
RealPlayer SP Beta is currently available for the BlackBerry 8800 series, Curve series (including 8900), Bold and Storm series. It is available as a free download from RealPlayer.com with support for h.264 video conversion, DVD playback, and DVD burning for those who upgrade to RealPlayer Plus SP at a one-time cost of $39.99.
