Over the weekend BlackBerry Desktop Manager v5.0.0.8 was leaked. Last time a Desktop Manager was leaked was in early April and that was version 5.0.

This version of BlackBerry Desktop Manager is not an official version so install at your own risk.

BBSAK (BlackBerry Swiss Army Knife) Beta: Nice looking JL_Cmdr alternative

Came across a relatively new forum called RIMGeeks where they have developed a nice looking alterative to JL_Cmdr called BBSAK, or BlackBerry Swiss Army Knife, which is currently in its Beta stages.

Needed

• .NET Framework 2.0

Main Features

• Wipe Blackberry leaving a 507 error
• Reset Blackberry to factory state removing any IT Policy
• Take Screenshots of your Blackberry.
• Install COD Files

If you find some bugs or want to suggest a feature you can do so at the BBSAK Bugs & Suggestions Thread. Since this application is in Beta I would suggest making a backup before using it, just in case.

TetherBerry Beta for Mac now available!

The last time I mentioned TetherBerry was in early March when they announced its availability for PC users.

TetherBerry just annnounced its Beta launch for a Mac version of its software.

Plazmic releases a patch to fix some CDK 4.7 release issues

Plazmic has released a patch for their Plazmic CDK 4.7 desktop application:

A new CDK 4.7 bundle is available that fixes a few issues found in the released software. This includes the changing of all the icons and doing an export causing a crash and export of animated sequences being off.

With the leak of OS 5.0 for the BlackBerry Curve 8900 and the Bold 9000, it would only make sense for the BlackBerry Desktop Manager 5.0 to get leaked also.

Free app: Xobni Announces Investment From BlackBerry Partners Fund Bringing Series B to Over $10 Million and Removes Beta Label

I posted about it because I thought it was pretty cool with all its features, and because of their new involvement with the BlackBerry Partners Fund. BlackBerry Desktop Manager 5.0 spotted

CrackBerry Kevin was able to get some screencaps of the BlackBerry Desktop Manager 5.0.

There have been plenty of rumors and questions regarding 5.0. Which devices will get it? How soon?

From looking at the screencaps, there doesn’t seem to be anything special besides the version number itself. What might pique some interest is the fact that you need OS 5.0 on your BlackBerry to use BlackBerry Desktop Manager 5.0 .
