I never realized how many sites actually have mobile friendly sites. YourShortcut.mobi also has a launcher application if you prefer applications over bookmarks in your BlackBerry Browser. The launcher application just launches your BlackBerry Browser and points it to YourShortcut.mobi. This is a great resource no one should be without.
If you want to preview it before checking it out on your BlackBerry or other mobile phone, the site is viewable through a regular desktop browser.

Just found out about a new and free application called VyMail (visual youmail) that allows you to sync your YouMail voicemails to listen right from your BlackBerry without having to make a phone call or log into the online service.
I just tried it out and it works great! One thing though, you need to format your number like this for it to work: XXX XXX-XXXX. No big deal, this is probably because of how you log into YouMail’s site, not because of the application’s formatting.
If you don’t know what YouMail is check out my review or visit YouMail.com for more info and to sign up. YouMail’s basic service is free with other premium services starting at $3.99 a month.
More about VyMail…
Current Limitations:
The Verizon Storm 9530 OS version 4.7.0.75 and 4.7.0.76 currently have a major flaw that doesn’t allow the phone to play through the speakerphone. If you are running this OS you’ll want to make sure that the default audio output is through the handset (Options->Play audio through, select ‘Handset’).
There is no way to mark a message as “unread”. This is a limitation of YouMail itself.
There are no notifications when you receive a new message. I am actively working on adding this feature, and it has top priority. In the meantime, you can setup YouMail to send you emails or text messages when you receive a voicemail, or check the application manually — it will still automatically sync — it just won’t send an active notification.
Planned features:
Notification support and integration with message list (4.6+ OS version will be required for this because of API limitations. I’ll have to provide two separate versions once support for this is added)
Integration with blackberry contacts
Message grouping by date
Callback menu options/buttons
Ability to view other folders (Trash, Saved, Flagged, etc)
More control over deletion (currently moves to your trash)

Google let me know that you can track Santa on his journey to deliver presents right from your BlackBerry with Google Maps Mobile!
I just tracked him and he is currently over Inis, Ireland. Pretty cool.
To track santa you need to first have Google Maps Mobile (visit m.google.com/maps from your BlackBerry) and then use the search phrase “norad santa” to track him.

Application Program Interface (API) program gives clients more access to niche tools and services
OMAHA, Neb., Nov 12, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) — Recognizing the growing need for more customization and flexibility in an unprecedented market environment, TD AMERITRADE announced today that it has partnered with developer Market Simplified to help its clients who own BlackBerry(R) smartphones stay within an arm’s reach of their accounts and assets.
This new technology now allows TD AMERITRADE clients to access account details, real-time quotes, market data, news and technical analysis tools while on-the-go from their BlackBerry(R) smartphones from Research In Motion (NASDAQ: RIMM), as well as several other mobile devices.
Market Simplified’s software links seamlessly to TD AMERITRADE’s order routing and back-office management systems. Clients can use these mobile tools and services and still receive the support, sophisticated order routing and execution capabilities, security features and simple pricing that help make the Company the industry leader in the number of online trades placed each day.
How does it work?
TD AMERITRADE is making more niche trading tools and services, like this new mobile trading software, available to clients through its Application Program Interface, or API. The API offers extended functionality, from risk management tools to sophisticated technical analysis platforms, that allows clients to further customize their TD AMERITRADE experiences.
TD AMERITRADE’s API links clients to tools and services offered by commercial and individual third party software developers that either complement or add to those currently available on the Company’s retail client platform. The developers then connect to TD AMERITRADE’s order routing and back office systems, creating a seamless user experience.
“Our clients are looking for more ways to stay connected to the markets and customize their trading experience. They want fast access to news, research and tools that can help them make confident, actionable investment decisions,” said Jay Pestrichelli, managing director of the Trader Group. “Partnering with a variety of software developers through our API program allows us to give our clients more flexibility and, more importantly, choice in a time of rapid market change.”
Who are the API Partners?
In the last quarter, TD AMERITRADE welcomed four new partners to its API: Smart Stops, which provides education, information and tools to clients looking to refine their exit strategies; iStockManager and iPTrader, which also provide mobile access to trading tools and services; and Market Simplified. These developers are the latest to join a diverse API menu that already includes the following:
AbleSys AbleTrend 7.0
Action Alerts PLUS from TheStreet.com
Blocks(TM)
Checklist Investor
CoolTrade
Personal Stock Streamer(TM)
eSignal OnDemand
Media Sentiment(R)
NinjaTrader
QuoteTracker
Sierra Chart
TradersCoach.com(R)
Tradecision
Trade-Ideas
API partner services are available for free and at discounted rates, depending on the provider, to all TD AMERITRADE clients. Click here for more information. Developers who are interested in joining the API can e-mail the Company at api@tdameritrade.com.
