Keep Tabs on Your Company’s Financials via BlackBerry

Posted by Mauricio on Aug 25, 2008 at 11:21 AM | Comments

Now the more than 130,000 small businesses that subscribe to QuickBooks Online have even more freedom to manage their business anywhere, anytime – with or without a computer. These early version Web-based mobile applications are part of Intuit’s Connected Services strategy to help entrepreneurs connect to their data when and where they need it.

Available on IntuitLabs.com, an early concept release site, these iPhone and BlackBerry applications help QuickBooks Online users get an up-to-date view of their finances by:

  • Checking current bank and credit card balances.
  • Tracking who owes them money and who they owe.
  • Finding vendor and customer contact info with addresses via Google Maps.
  • Running balance sheet and profit and loss reports.

“QuickBooks Online is perfect for us as there is no ‘office,’ just volunteer member parents working from various home or work offices,” said Laura Olcott, treasurer for Twin Cities Co-op Preschool in Corte Madera, Calif. “Given the virtual nature of our interactions, iPhone support helps us be more productive. While waiting for an appointment, I was able to check QuickBooks Online using my iPhone to look up parents with open balances and send them an e-mail reminder to pay their bill.”

“A growing number of small businesses are looking to mobile technology to run their business,” said Rick Jensen, senior vice president of Intuit’s Small Business Division. “Our goal with these new mobile services is to give QuickBooks Online users the edge they need to compete and manage their busy lives by keeping tabs on their business even when they are out of the office.”

IntuitLabs.com

The iPhone and BlackBerry Web-based applications for QuickBooks Online are part of IntuitLabs.com, a site where customers are encouraged to try Intuit’s early concept releases and contribute to the innovation process by providing feedback.

The site includes applications that address several important customer problems in a range of categories for consumers and small businesses.

Pricing and Availability

More information on QuickBooks Online on the iPhone and BlackBerry is available at www.intuitlabs.com/apps/category/mobile/. QuickBooks Online is available starting at $9.95 per month at www.qboe.com. The iPhone and BlackBerry Web-based applications are free to QuickBooks Online users.

Vuclip.com (formerly BlueApple.mobi)

Posted by Mauricio on Aug 20, 2008 at 10:21 AM | Comments

While browsing GetJar.com for new content for my BlackBerry, I came across Vuclip.com. I wasn’t sure what it was until I read the description. I went to BlueApple.mobi to check and sure enough, the site was totally redesigned and the name was changed.

What is Vuclip.com?

Vuclip.com allows its users to view any video available on the internet right on their BlackBerry with the ability to share, save (thats right, save it right on your BlackBerry), create playlists, and get alerts for recently posted videos.

I don’t know if this is known, but Vuclip.com also has a launcher that I found at GetJar.com.

Here is what the launch icon looks like:

To download the launch icon go to wap.getjar.com with your BlackBerry, select Quick Download and enter 33420.

More info on launch icon.

The new Vuclip.com site looks pretty cool too, check it out with your desktop or your BlackBerry.

Review: YouMail

Posted by Mauricio on Aug 12, 2008 at 8:56 PM | Comments

youmail Review: YouMail

This service is free and compatible with most service providers.

You can easily check and listen to your voice mail with an online “in box.” It even has a “trash” box in case you delete something by accident.

Tired of those unknown or blocked callers? With this you can have your voice mail let them know “This caller does not accept calls from blocked numbers, please unblock your number and try again,” and then it will hang up on them before they can leave a message.

This system has “smart greetings” which address your caller by name like this “Hello John, Mauricio isn’t available right now. Please leave a message.”

You can even make personal greetings for each and every contact in your phone book!!!

Have an annoying ex? You can select/make a greeting saying “This number is no longer in service” so they think you changed it!

YouMail also has premium greetings done by celebrity impersonators…some are really funny!

The premium greetings start off at $2 a month for any one greeting set to any contact. For more info on the other plans visit the website.

YouMail also walks you through EVERYTHING you have to do and know when it comes to setting up your phone with this new voice mail service with tutorials and pictures. Its really user friendly.

Get SMS or email notice of new voice mails with the info and phone number of the person that called!

You can easily change back to your normal voice mail if you don’t like it, they even help with that too!

Don’t forget…FREE OF CHARGE SERVICE!

Once again…definitely a 10/10 for me and I highly recommend it to everyone.
