juicecaster JuiceCaster Launches For BlackBerry

JuiceCaster, the leading mobile social media application, is now available for one the most popular Blackberry devices via a free beta application for users in the United States. For a limited time, Blackberry(R) Curve(TM) users can sign-up to receive the JuiceCaster beta at www.juicecaster.com/blackberry. The free beta application is available to users of the Blackberry Curve (8310) for AT&T, and the Blackberry Curve (8330) for Verizon Wireless. In the coming weeks, the free beta will be opened up for Blackberry Pearl users, and for Blackberry users in Europe.

I myself will not be able to use this since I have a Pearl, so I hope some of you will leave some feedback about it. It seems like it would be a pretty cool application.

Please remember that this is a beta, so make a backup just in case ;-) .

ZAGG invisibleSHIELD for BlackBerry

Posted by Mauricio on Aug 26, 2008 at 5:02 PM | Comments

Now here is something very cool. I don’t know if many out there know about ZAGG, but they are supposed to be one of the top makers of protection when it comes to electronics.

Here are a few of the features:

  • Scratch-Proof, patented film
  • Military Grade
  • Lifetime Guarantee
  • No added bulk
  • Improves grip
  • Invisible protection

Looks very promising. Prices vary from device to device. For examply, getting this for an XBOX 360 would cost a bit more than getting it for my BlackBerry Pearl 8100.

Chuck and Matthew from TDC Group were on hand showing off the latest in Freeance – simply put, this solution enables ArcGIS users to extend the Geodatabgse to the field using Blackberry devices (like the new Blackberry Bold). Given Blackberry’s penetration into the entrprise space this is a natural fit! Using Freeance, enterprises can now use data from their enterprise GIS and back office databases in mobile applications on BlackBerry smartphones. Mobile workers in government, utilities and business can now easily update their databases for uses including GIS, to respond to emergencies, handle service calls, record new infrastructure, conduct inspections, map hazardous spills, inventory assets, and see crime events by time and location. your users can use a familiar device to add GPS points while in the field, fill in custom forms, display aerial imagery and much more. See the demo below and see also http://www.freeance.com/mobile

AT&T to Deliver Mobile Student Response Solution

Posted by Mauricio on Aug 26, 2008 at 12:56 PM | Comments

I thought this was pretty interesting. AT&T is going to be launching a solution that will enable educators to go beyond traditional classroom lectures and teaching methods.

The mobile student interactive response solution from Turning Technologies, a developer of interactive response systems, actively enhances the classroom experience for both students and educators. The solution can work within a traditional classroom environment or remotely for distance learning. Additionally, the mobile application can be used on Web-enabled AT&T smartphones, eliminating the need for clickers or other peripheral classroom equipment.

The interactive student response systems also offer the ability to:

  • Create a dynamic, interactive classroom experiences, increasing student attentiveness and comprehension.
  • Immediately address misconceptions of instruction, allowing for on-the-fly customized knowledge construction experiences.
  • Seamlessly combine instruction with assessment, including the cumulative tracking of class and individual student results.
  • Allow everyone, even the shyest of students, to become equally involved in honest, no-risk answering.
  • Reinforce content via instant polling.

I don’t know how fast schools and colleges will catch onto this, but being in college myself I’d be interested in trying this out.

Pictures Leaked of Blackberry 8220 OS for T-Mobile

Posted by Mauricio on Aug 26, 2008 at 12:36 PM | Comments

CellPhonesignal scored some nice pictures of the new 8220 in action with the T-Mobile OS. If I was still into flip phones I would definitely be getting this BlackBerry. It will supposedly come out in both black and red.

I would definitely suggest this phone to anyone who likes flip phones and wants to get the most out of a cell phone. The 8220 is said to be released in October this year.
