Adam from CrackBerry got official word that Verizon will be releasing OS 4.7.0.148  for the BlackBerry Storm 9530 tomorrow, May 31st!

Customers will be able to get the update via the Web at www.blackberry.com/update beginning Sunday, May 31 from 3 p.m. Eastern Time. Verizon Wireless will also be rolling this update out to customers through an over-the-air download beginning Sunday night (10 p.m. Eastern Time). To get the download over the air, go to Options> Advanced Options > Wireless Updates.

Zach from BGR was able to get the changelog for OS 4.7.0.148, showing exactly what was fixed, updated and included since OS 4.7.0.113. Check it out after the jump.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news especially when the Verizon BlackBerry Storm 9530 OS update was highly anticipated by many, but it looks like you will have to wait a while just a bit longer.

BG heard from one of his trusted ninjas that Verizon has decided to skip the release of OS 4.7.0.141 because it failed some testing.

Of course if you have the latest leaked 4.7.0.141 for the 9530 then you probably aren’t bothered by this, but some prefer official over leaked. I know this OS is official for the Storm 9500, but still no love for the 9530 .

I wonder if they’ll skip OS 4.7 altogether and just release 5.0 for the Storm.

If anyone is using the leaked .141 9530 OS feel free to leave some comments on your findings about its performance, and whether you think it should have been made official.

Keep in mind that these are Java files that were removed from the original OS 4.7.0.141. By using these files you aren’t getting the full OS update, even though your application version will show 4.7.0.141. I guess this way you can enjoy some of the benefits of the newer OS without fully installing it.

To update using these files you will need to drag and drop them over your Storm’s current installation. No radio file is included in these downloads, so this is what you should see when you check your OS version:
