New BlackBerry Smartphone Simulators have been made available by RIM. The Simulators are necessary for developers to test how their software would run on a BlackBerry device.
Use BlackBerry® Smartphone Simulators to view and test how BlackBerry® Device Software and the screen, keyboard and trackwheel/trackball will work with your application. With a BlackBerry Smartphone Simulator, you can run and debug applications as if they were on an actual BlackBerry smartphone.
I’ve included a list of the BlackBerry Smartphone Simulators after the jump. For more info visit blackberry.com/simulators.

The team over at Cellcrypt let me know that they have launched a WiFi version of their secure voice calling app for BlackBerry with a free, 90-day trial.
Cellcrypt Mobile provides end-to-end voice encryption on BlackBerry smartphones, ensuring that important mobile phone conversations remain confidential. Utilising the IP data channel it supports cellular (2.5G, 3G, 3.5G), Wi-Fi and satellite networks and delivers government-grade security in an easy-to-use application that makes highly secure calling as easy as making a normal phone call. It is compliant with FIPS 140-2 when used on a FIPS validated BlackBerry smartphone and configuration.
The free for 90 days offer is available for up to 10 handsets per company for use over Wi-Fi, using a Wi-Fi-enabled BlackBerry smartphone. A full Cellcrypt Mobile licence can be purchased at anytime which also includes secure calling over cellular networks (including 2.5G, 3G and 3.5G).
If you’re someone who’s worried about how secure your phone conversations are, or you’re looking for more security because you’re a corporate or government employee, Cellcrypt is something you may want to look in to. Supported BlackBerry devices include the Pearl 8120, Curve 8320, 8520 and 8900, Bold 9000 and 9700.

RIM Reposts BlackBerry OS 5.0 Compatibility List – Device Additions & Removals [News]
![BlackBerry_Logo_Preferred_Black_R BlackBerry Logo Preferred Black R RIM Reposts BlackBerry OS 5.0 Compatibility List Device Additions & Removals [News]](http://blackberryrocks.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/BlackBerry_Logo_Preferred_Black_R.jpg)
Back in October of 2009 I posted about a RIM Knowledge Base (KB) Article that detailed which BlackBerry devices would be compatible with OS 5.0. Soon after that post they removed the KB for unknown reasons (maybe people were unhappy with the list), but today I found that the same KB Article is back with a few changes.
The old compatibility list showed listed the following devices:
- BlackBerry® Pearl™ Flip 8200 series smartphones
- BlackBerry® Curve™ 8330 smartphones
- BlackBerry® Curve™ 8350i smartphones
- BlackBerry® Curve™ 8900 smartphones
- BlackBerry® Bold™ 9000 smartphones
- BlackBerry® Storm™ 9500 series smartphones
- BlackBerry® Tour™ 9630 smartphones
The new one lists these:
- BlackBerry® Curve™ 8350i smartphone
- BlackBerry® Curve™ 8520 smartphone
- BlackBerry® Curve™ 8900 smartphone
- BlackBerry® Tour™ 9630 smartphone
- BlackBerry® Bold™ 9000 smartphone
- BlackBerry® Storm™ 9500 smartphone
- BlackBerry® Storm™ 9530 smartphone
See what happened there? The Curve 8520 and Storm 9530 were added, the Pearl Flip 8200 series and Curve 8330 were removed. If you recall OS 5.0 did in fact get released for the Curve 8330 and the Bold 9700 ships with it so I’m not sure why they’re not listed. As for the Pearl Flip getting removed…I don’t know what to tell you :-/ .
You never know, maybe RIM will remove and repost it again with more changes. Check out KB17984 for more info.

![tvider-blackberry-twitter-app tvider blackberry twitter app e1264520973130 Tvider For BlackBerry Share Audio, Videos And Pictures On Twitter [Application]](http://blackberryrocks.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/tvider-blackberry-twitter-app-e1264520973130.gif)
It seems like BlackBerry Twitter applications are popping up out of no where lately. New to the game is Tvider, a BlackBerry application that allows you to send Tweets containing pictures, videos and audio.
Features:
- Support for all 3 types of media – VIDEO, AUDIO, PICTURE.
- Tools to instantly generate media using webcam and mobile camera.
- Option to publish a pre-recorded media tweet from your HDD or mobile SD Card memory.
- Instant Micro Media Tweeting experience designed by limiting the media length to 60s in case of video and audio.
- Reply and Re-Tweet the media Tweets in your timeline.
I’ve played with this application on my Bold 9700 (using the 9000 version) and it works quite well. The user interface is very nicely designed, it’s simple to use and fast in terms of media retrieval.

Side note: Even though they use a Storm in the sample photo there is no Storm version available for download.
