GSM BlackBerry Onyx Pre-Release Found On eBay

blackberry onyx ebay GSM BlackBerry Onyx Pre Release Found On eBay

It was only a matter of time before the BlackBerry Onyx was found on eBay. This is of course a pre-release which doesn’t have the Trackpad it’s supposed to eventually come with.

When I saw this auction yesterday it was around $600  with the option to Buy It Now for $1299.99. It looks like they failed to sell it because it’s back down to $1! Considering that the box is opened (even though the condition says it isn’t) and it’s without a Trackpad, I think they might need to lower their Buy It Now price a bit.

Check out the eBay page for the Onyx here. I’d personally wait for the Trackpad version at the least, but I know someone out there is anxious enough to spend some money on a pre-release. Good luck if you do!

BlackBerry 8520 found on eBay

ebay blackberry 8520 BlackBerry 8520 found on eBay

If you ask me, the pictures in this eBay BlackBerry 8520 auction look awfully familiar.

I highly doubt CrackBerry Kevin is auctioning the 8520 he had, so that leads me to believe that this eBay auction is a fake and everyone who has bid so far is in for some disappointment.

I could be wrong, but if the person who published the auction actually had an 8520, why not use images of his own to make it more believable? This guy cropped an image Kevin published at CrackBerry but failed to remove the reflection of the CrackBerry logo from the 8520’s screen. FAIL

If I’m wrong let the person who put this auction up on eBay tell me so and I’ll stand corrected. For now you can check out the eBay auction, but I highly discourage any bidding if you’re not sure about it.

Posted by Mauricio on Mar 30, 2009 at 11:33 PM | Comments

The guys from Mogees let me know that they have acquired BerryStore. Besides offering an on-device app store, the BerryStore will also be accepting applications from developers as free, demo, trial or paid apps, offering a high 80% payout rate! This is a good option if you’re an application developer who is looking for more ways to share your BlackBerry applications.

Some highlights from the press release:

  • Mobile billing platform Mogees announced the completed acquisition of BerryStore, an on-device app store for the RIM platform. Launched in 2008, BerryStore is now the leading independent on-device app store for BlackBerry applications.
  • With the acquisition of BerryStore, Mogees now offers a solution for BlackBerry developers that includes distribution and billing. BlackBerry developers can list their applications on BerryStore as free, demo, trial, or paid. Trial and paid applications are powered by the Mogees mobile billing platform. Mogees released their Payment SDK for the BlackBerry earlier this year.
  • More information about Mogees can be found at http://www.mogees.com.
  • The BerryStore application can be downloaded on BlackBerry devices from http://m.berrystore.com.

I decided to do some eBay browsing for BlackBerrys (I get most of my phones through eBay) and I found a new BlackBerry Curve 8900 listing with accessories for the 8900 also listed. I really want this BlackBerry, come on T-Mobile USA!

BlackBerry Storm on eBay…Not as popular as Javelin

stormebay BlackBerry Storm on eBay...Not as popular as Javelin

I guess not as many people are as psyched for this phone as they were for the Javelin. This seller seems like the real deal with his 100% positive feedback, but I don’t know about this auction.

A few things this seller states in this auction make it sound sketchy:

  • “I have 3 Phones currently in transit. If you are a serious buyer I can provide you a copy of the tracking number”
  • “I will ship the phone as soon as it arrives.”
  • “I will not send a picture of the phone with your name because there are too many crooks on the net, if my picture is not good enough dont buy the phone.”

This guy must be in deep with RIM to be getting these phones like that, I wonder who he is. Unless of course he just knows someone inside RIM that’s getting him these phones. Nice way to make some extra money though.

I don’t like the fact that he will ship the phones once he gets them, after receiving payment. I wouldn’t do that, but there are people that don’t care whether or not he actually has the phone as long as they still get it. What happens if the delivery guys realizes what it is (somehow) and decides not to deliver it? I guess it’s a good thing this guy only uses PayPal, that’s the only safe method of payment to use I think. If he screws you, you can just file a claim and get your money back. At least that’s how it’s worked for me.

Anyway, if you’re interested in checking this auction out you can click here. Good luck if you decide to bid! And if you win, let me know if this was the real deal.

BlackBerry Javelin sold on eBay for $17100k!

javelinebay BlackBerry Javelin sold on eBay for $17100k!

That’s just ridiculous! I thought the other one was bad at $4k…but $17k?! COME ON. Someone could really make a difference in the world with that kind of money, however little it may be.

Some are thinking RIM bought it out to see who the leak was. If that’s true, I hope the seller has a backup job. I doubt it will be as good as working for RIM and getting free BlackBerries.

Could be some bored rich guy/girl looking to have some fun. Who knows. If you know anything more about this eBay auction or the winning bidder let me know!

javelinebay Unlocked BlackBerry Javelin on eBay...$4056.99?!

Ok this is a big WTH for me. Seriously…over $4000 for a cell phone?

Ok it’s a BlackBerry and it’s a damn sexy one…but for real. With that amount of money you’d be able to buy yourself a few Javelins! I don’t think even think the Bold got this much attention on eBay.

Now if you are wealthy like that, then I guess it’s not big deal.

Good luck to you if you decide to place a bid!

BlackBerry 8220 Pearl (or Kickstart) on eBay!

kickstart BlackBerry 8220 Pearl (or Kickstart) on eBay!

That’s right! Whenever you want an item before it comes out, always check eBay. As you can see from the screenshot, the bid is pretty high at $751.00 USD. Are there any hardcore BlackBerry fans out there willing to buy this off eBay to have it first, or just to have it now? If there is, let me know when you got it and if it was worth it. This auction will end in 3 days, so you have time to think it over ;-) .

Check out the eBay listing.
