Bellshare GmbH has just announced that the BerryBuzz 2.0 private beta is now open and includes some great new features!

BerryBuzz extends your default Blackberry alert system allowing you to customize the LED color for many alert types and keeps the LED flashing for longer than the default 15 minutes, in addition to customizable vibrate options for incoming calls (like vibrate + ring).

The BerryBuzz 2.0 Beta includes new features like support for BlackBerry Messenger, Facebook, custom LED colors, a new ‘Disco’ color, controlling your LED’s flashes and many more!

The currently available version of BerryBuzz goes for $5.95 in the store with a free trial available, just in case you don’t like using beta applications.

The BerryWeather v1.5 Private Beta that I let you all know about last week is now taking testers!

Features in Version 1.5.11 (Changes since official release 1.0.43):

• Added radar support for US locations
• Support for custom radar map (paste your own animated gif/png/jpeg url)
• Added cell/GPS location support (a special GPS location can be added, will use current GPS location on updates)
• Added new view ‘Today w/ Sun and Moon’ (rise and set times plus moon phase)
• Added new Widget 2 theme
• Added new homescreen title options (’BerryWeather’ and None)
• Advisories will now only checked for supported locations (bandwidth saving)
• Changed layout of ‘Compact Daily/Hourly’ views
• Improved animation smoothness (especially on BB Storm)
• Improved scrolling on BB Storm
• Fixes background image changes not persistent after device reboot
• Fixes background image not being rotated in landscape mode on BB Storm
• Fixes unhandled exception on device startup

The BerryWeather v1.5 Private Beta will be released soon, one of the new features being radar. For those that don’t know what weather radar is:

A weather radar, or weather surveillance radar (WSR), is a type of radar used to locate precipitation, calculate its motion, estimate its type (rain, snow, hail, etc.), and forecast its future position and intensity.
